Randomly attacked by stations

Has anyone experienced being attacked by a space station/fleet carrier for no reason at all?
It's never happened to me before, but in the past two days it's happened twice.

Premise: I had no bounties, no fines, no notoriety, weapons stowed and fingers away from fire buttons.

First occurrence:
I was flying to my Fleet Carrier, and as soon as I exited supercruise the FC started shooting on me.
The rebuy screenshot mentions "Trespass" and the log on my hard drive does not show anything, aside from the FC attacking me.

Second occurrence:
I was leaving an Orbis starport controlled by a facion I am allied with, and controlled by the Power I am pledged to.
As soon as I hit launch and my ship becomes unlocked from the landing pad, the space station fired at me.

How's that possible?

I was flying a Hauler, and lost no data, vouchers, bounties, etc so it's not a big deal, but if it's a bug it's quite worrying.

Unless an AI is gradually taking control of the Galaxy...

Hmmm. Maybe pay attention to the faction the station is allied with, in the left hand part of the HUD.

There was an old bug where stations would rapidly change factions, potentially to ones players were hostile with. It lead to the same random attacks you described.

If the station changes hands at the tick, it's possible to be allied on landing, then hostile on departure, to add to the Chemist's answer above. Unless you relog after the tick you won't see the changes being displayed until you get lit up!

The only other thing I can think of here is that you didn't have a cat meme painted on your ship, and Erei was the station controller. I'd have shot you for the same crime.



Edit - the above would apply for the carrier too, if they were previously both owned by the cf, and it changed to one you were hostile with

I thought of that but in one case it was the faction I am allied to (double checked after relogging following the incident) , and in the other it was my own bloody Fleet Carrier!

My forum image is a cat meme, I didn't think I needed one on my ships, too! :(

You can never have enough - you've ventured into the thread....!

Weird though that it wasn't one of the things we suggested, I'm at a bit of a loss then sadly, and would be tempted to put it down as a kind of insect. Have you looked through the logs mate?
