Rank up missions

Hi all I apologies if this question has already been asked but I can not seem to rank up I'm playing the live game of ED:H. I have looked at loads of videos and they all say you need to wait for a mission that says navel or rank up but there videos look different to my current game build I am at empire 100% and ailled to the empire am I missing something or is it a bug thanks

Are you 100% in your current rank also? (not just Empire rep) Just waiting for a promotional mission? Are you in a station with an empire mission agent?

If so, try changing modes: Open, Solo, Group....try the mission givers in each mode.

Make sure that your 100% is not rounded 99,99999%, so you might want to do another mission to gain some % and after that log on/off for that Navy mission to pop up. I experienced that while lvling for Duke and Navy missions appear to be pretty rare. Because of that it took me longer to lvl.

P.S
I would not suggest you to wait for mission to appear, instead keep doing missions (% will cumulate and once you completed rank up mission you'll have like 20-50% extra).

As Itaki says, you have two things to level-up with your Major Faction; Reputation and Rank. They both increase as you complete the right missions.

'Reputation' seems a little incidental, I've not noticed what effect it has on the game.

Increase your 'Rank' % by completing missions for Major Faction affiliated factions. When your 'Rank' reaches 100%, you will be offered missions with 'Imperial/Federal Navy/Naval' in the title, and something like 'Promotion to [Outsider]' in the reward description. On completion your Rank will be back at 1 or 2% but you'll be a rung further up the ladder - http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Empire/Ranks

Promotion missions seem to be worth slightly more Rank % increase than other missions so they're worth stacking if you get the opportunity, but don't expect to get 5 promotions from stacking 5 promotion missions.

And as SirOleg says, if you're in the right system with the right factions and have Rank 100% already, keep going with standard missions and the % will be added when the Promotion missions finally turn up, so you don't need to go hunting for them.

The more minor factions at your station that are affiliated to your Major Faction, the better.

Just to add you dont have to take the mission if its not your play style ie Smuggle or murder. Just dont accept it and another will pop up eventually.

well i tryed to uploads jpg but it wont let me invaild files i get aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrr problems is there a max size? sorry to be a pain

It doesn't really matter if the minor factions are in control of a system for major faction Rep, just make sure they are aligned is all.

Keep doing missions if I were you, although you don't see it your Rep passes beyond the 100% and into the next level so its not wasted i.e. it is possible after ranking up to be at 100% at the next level

Are you mode switching also (from solo/private/open) to refresh the mission board ? many here will disapprove of this this - but do what you are comfortable with. That way you can stack missions much more quickly.

I think you'll need to use imgur or similar to add photos.

All station factions, are minor factions.

On the 3rd screenshot above, the Empire logo next to the representative shows that four minor factions are all affiliated with the Empire. Missions for all of these will count towards your Imperial Reputation & Rank, and when the time comes they'll all offer promotion missions. You can work for or against, as few or as many of the factions as you like.

Your minor faction reputation (screen 3, Faction Reputation, Cordial), will affect the level of top paying missions on offer from any faction. So working towards Allied with each of them (as with Major Faction, will increase as you complete missions, will decrease if you shoot their ships etc...) will lead to an increased availability of high paying missions.

i swear i must be doing somw thing wrong or my games buged been play from 10.00 this morning swapping in and out of solo play and still no rank missions!!! any more ideas cant up load my screen shots either????
