Rare Commodities List!

Okay before I logged off I checked availability at Chi Eridani and Jorua. There were 784 units at Chi and 385 at Jorua. Let's see what it looks like after the patch.

The A3 scoop is the highest I can go in the 3 slot.
Yes but I was suggesting going to a higher slot, an A4 would only lose you 8 cargo for almost twice the scoop rate (T9 has 2 class 4 internals right?). If you can cut your scooping time from 5 minutes to 2.5 that's a 10% reduction in travel time, while only losing 2% cargo space. However the whole discussion might be for nothing in a few minutes! :p

I hope rare trading isn't nerfed, but instead tweaked. bring up the risk level for it instead of dropping the profit/availability of it

CMDR OziBattla reporting in deep Empire space just completed my first rare item run, Delta Phoenicis to Uhsa. Unbelievalbe amount of profit. Thanks for the info, the spreadsheet and route planner have made it also too easy. At this rate in my Type 6 transporter with a Class 4 FSD, be making big cash.

I take your point and will try changing a slot over. I was going to say that filling the bigger tank on this thing, whilst balancing the tendency to overheat is a skill. And a difficult one until fully upgraded

Perhaps the current stocks will just not be replenished as quickly, so they will dwindle. Oddly enough, Michael has made a comment on "personal" supply, which makes me think that supply is determined on an individual player basis.

There was lots in there affected me in addition to the route planning:

- Randomise the asteroid composition instead of using the deterministic seed to prevent people quitting and reloading repeatedly after finding a good asteroid to get around the chunk limit

There goes the asteroid trick

- Mark the next system on jump route in the navigation panel
- Always show the planned route on galaxy map

- Turretted weapons can't target thigs if you're docked
Destroyed my type-9 twice yesterday probably because of this

- When buying/selling modules - consider their maximum potential mass (not just the module mass) when deciding if the new loadout is too heavy.
Maybe what happened today

- Fix galaxy map search not finding generated systems with authored names
This one may be the reason not all jumpables are in the nav list, but I stress may

It was always personal. If the station had 50 Brandies, you and your friends could by 50 each. (odd when you are both docked at the same station, in the same instance, but that's a gameplay "tweak" for you...)

This is also why it's pretty easy to tweak it to be more random, since it's player-based, not at all part of the overall economy.

For the record, just visited Gilya - Bell Orbital is the only station with a commodities market, and saw no rare goodies.

This is as of Gamma 1.05, but parked up there so can check if it's the same with Gamma 2.0 in half an hour or so.

Just double checked Gilya Bell Orbital in Gamma 2.0, still no rares in Bell Orbital. Just in case, went to the only other station - an outpost - which the system map notes as having no commodities market and confirmed it indeed has no commodities market.

When I logged back in there were 8 more Karetii Couture, then a few minutes later 10 more appeared. Doesn't seem any change since the patch.

No it wasn't, it was originally shared and then changed to personal in either 1.05 or 1.04. Did you think it would actually take players several patches to find free money?

385 still at Jaroua. Either the update hasn't taken place, or it has and this is the new value.

Both of my locations have a slightly lower value than before, no longer in the thousands, and less than a maxed anaconda can hold.

Yes that change between grouped supply and personal supply was made in 1.05... it's what led to the surge in volume of 'rare' items...

If it was still shared among everyone, then 0 would be visible since people would camp and buy out immediately. Nobody would discuss openly the location of these commodities and so basically this thread wouldn't exist.

Although given the way things are going at the moment with everyone just filling their boots I can see it going back to that way of doing things.

I have my doubts. It's not exactly interesting gameplay and no matter how many places the devs put in, don't forget that soon some thousand people will be playing concurrently. It would be a frustrating and useless feature. I'd tweak the respawn rate myself to set it such that you can do perhaps a full cargo run once per week per station maximum or so. Something to do every once in a while but not exclusively as you run out of cargo or need to constantly change routes.
