Rare Commodities List!

It's definitely in the commodities list. Can't do a screenshot on my iPad though. They are at Budrys Station, HIP73773.

I wonder If they might be exploration drones that were supposed to be in the game? I think they were going to be used to set up nav beacons/finding a jump path to unexplored systems.
I spotted a post by someone who made it to the galactic core already so maybe they change that.

Just got back from work so I need to check out what happened to the rare goods!
but I must say it doesn't sound good, I enjoyed spending a few hours doing missions and hanging around a system slowly stocking up.
Might have to trade in for a lacon 6 at launch, should be able to make a sweet 1.5-2M per trip no problems!

Checking last night the respawn rate is still the same so when you exhaust one stock you will need to wait a day or so to get another hold's worth so expect to do a lot of moving about working the different systems.

Also the Lakon has tissue paper sheilds and I have had a couple of close calls with NPC pirate vipers who got me down to 50% hold as the FSD took an age to get back online for whatever reason.

I now have a basic ASP and with 80 ton capacity it has a lot more sturdy sheilds as well as larger fuel tank.

Also looking at ship and module prices I reckon I need 50million of kit on the ASP to get it to how I want it and the Anaconda is almost 150 million for the basic ship.

Also I have been studying on how trading/exploration gets faction rating.

30 star systems scanned with the detailed system scanner and sold at a station got me to "Allied" status with that faction yet selling 3 million worth of goods only got me to "Friendly" with another.

Also it seemed that once I got to the better faction rating stations were more likely to offer me a whole lot better ship modules, the ASP 64 ton hold did not appear for several hours then suddenly when I got friendly at a high tech station it popped up as well as a whole load of fuel scoops mining gear, fuel tanks and other stuff I have not seen anywhere else as replacements.

but it is difficult to say at the moment if faction opens up more gear I need to get more stations up to freindly and allied and see.

Been testing all day and the respawn rate is so fast I have never had any problem stocking up to full with every visit.

Must check out the gin.... sounds like its got bite!

I've been looking around for new commodities and not quite got to purchasing any of the ones that have been found... :D

Gonna have to do something about that :)

Sorry, this system is now broken.

It is so lucrative it feels like godmode and cheating.

I earned over 3 million in 4 trips. With a Cobra with 48 tons.

The spawn or the credit reward needs to be severly toned down.

Strange my "personal" stock seems to be changing by itself
I arrived at Toxandji last night and the commodities market had 33 Virocide
this evening when I logged on there where only 21, I had a stock of lavian brandy to sell so I headed a few more systems away to get a better price.
When I got back there where only 19 left! My stock doesn't seem so personal anymore, are NPC's getting their grubby little hands on my goods?
edit 1: just gone past midnight and stock just shot back up to 30, I had just purchased the last 19 before writing this post. looks like the stock resets at 00:00?
edit 2: 10 min later and there's only 22 left, what's going on?
edit 3: 1am now and its gone up to 32, I'm off now going to do a bit of exploration before I go to bed

are any of these goods illegal in some sectors? (in other words can they get you fined/shot?)

None of these goods have been illegal in any system I've sold them in so far, but it's defiantly worth taking some of the legal drugs to a system that bans a similar commodity to test it out.
Also would be nice to know what happens if someone pirates them off you, do they still increase in value on the black market?

I have noticed that Toxiandji and Eranin have "high" supply at 20-30 and Thrutis at about 100-120. So there seems to be lower caps on some of the goods and now they seem to have the same variability as "normal" goods.

So it looks like that the rare goods are still being rebalenced. Also I ran some goods for 250 light years and I only got 16k profit per ton which seems to be slightly lower than previous runs as well.

Given how much I have seen that modules and highjer ships cost, people will complain later on that they need better ways of making money. I estimate that 100's of millions of credits will be needed to get anywhere and there is already a sharp rebalence since 1.05 been launched.

Possible solution: Your reserved amount of the item may only be a couple of units, so the variation you're seeing is caused by supply/demand activity in excess of your reserved amount.

Great thread. It opened my eyes up to the potential of the market - I can't be bothered with trading regular goods, it's more fun to smuggle cargo and do some pew pew, but finding rare goods that I can load up, and then sell later as I travel through the various systems, now that's interesting.... I'll be keeping an eye out on the markets for anything unusual now.

Z...

After my last trade run I've filled my cargo hold (32 tonnes) with Virocide that was 2 days ago. This morning before work I've logged in and in Toxandji there were 14 tonnes in the market stock. I've sold my 32 tonnes (with a small profit?) but this amount was not added to the station stock. Afterwards I've bought the 14 tonnes and sold them back. For approx 10 minutes there were no items in stock afterwards the stock was replenished with 20 tonnes of Virocide.

How far did you travel to sell it?
Was was per tonne profit?

They should implement a lower band version for standard commodities... like coffee for example.

Lavian coffee has an aroma that matches the tropical breeze, with a hint of nuts, and is a delicacy in the Empire.
While Venetet coffee tastes like plastic dog turds.

To be able to buy such special goods, the trader should buy a distribution license.
