Update of on the seach for unknown rare "Pavonis Ear Grubbs"
Not found in following systems from JSON file:

nice job I've checked all the systems from the JSON file, I've got a feeling that these are illegal in the system that produces them, same as a few others we haven't been able to find. I think we should wait for the next update and see what happens.
If there are no changes It could be fun and very rewarding to organise a little operation to liberate one of these commodities, I've read a bit on the forum about cmdrs attempts to change system faction ownership. It seems they've been able to change ownership of a station from one faction to another so we could give it a go a see if we could get a more accommodating faction to take over a station.
Hi guys, thanks a lot for all this effort, I made quite a bit of credits with it. I'm sticking with a Cobra for now as I feel safer on a ship that can pretty much outrun anything when interdicted, is there a big difference with a bigger trading ship ?
Also I've stuggled a bit to sell some of the illegal commodities so I wrote down black markets for all the systems I've been in. Some of them may have already been updated, but a lot weren't last I checked so here goes :
Also, thanks for the HIP 80364 discovery, it fits nicely in my route and the quantities are great !

Have you tried ALL the Greek letters?
Yes, I tried all greek letters. I also investigated a bit in the www about known Pavonis stars and there possible alternative names (e.g. "Alpha Pavonis" = "Peacock").
As I remember some "real" Pavonis stars do not exist in ED and some possible greek letters are not used in real Pavonis (eg. Chi is not used by astronomers in Pavois, for whatever reason).
I haven't found more in ED than the listed ones.
Have the mechanics changed? I took my T6 and bought the rares in Altair, then Epsilon Indi, then back to Altair and they had no new stock. So I went to Eranin, then Ethgreze, then back to Altair, and still nothing. That MUST have been more than 10 minutes, more like half an hour. So I just moved on to Kamorin and sold it all. Does the stock not refresh if you already have some in your hold?
Did you sold all of the Altair goods or just a portion?
As far a s I know, the rule is that you can't have more than the max allocation in your cargo.
Means, if max is 10:
Buy 10 -> no more possible to buy
sell 5 -> lets you buy another 5
BUT: I always sold all till now, not only portions as this is somehow useless I think
May be a nice idea to do so. How would it look like? What do we need to do and how much CMDRs are requireed? Can we do it in solo mode?
None, I was collecting as many as I could before heading off. I didn't realize that it took my cargo into account, I thought it would allow me to buy more if I waited. I think it used to work that way last time I traded rares. I guess if I had a second PC to run my second account on, I could use my other ship as a buyer to get around this limit.
Would only be practical for one system, so I'd have to pick one in a cluster that has a decent stock level and keep the second account parked there so I could just double the quantity from one pick up. Altair would be a good choice, as it has something like a 20t limit, and is part of a fairly small cluster.

Found this a few days ago but figure I should get around to posting it.
Found a new rare!

When first discovered, there was 26 supply in the station - I didn't buy any. Next time there was 23 supply and I bought it all but the supply would not increase beyond that.
I have then also seen 36 and then 32 supply. Lastly, I saw 15 supply which I bought and then it refreshed but did not go beyond 19 supply.
So it seems perhaps the minimum supply I think is 19 however it is capable of supplying up to 36 (or maybe higher) on a single batch.
There is also a Stasheff city spaceport in LTT11244!
Dont go there as there are no Rare commodities!

we've had strange reports from Altair the max allocation seems to vary here.

I need to look into it a bit more but it seems if we grind missions for a particular faction in a station they can take control of that station. Solo mode effects the game world same as Open, which is why there is no offline mode, I'll get back to you when I find out a bit more.
