This is surreal now. You used both words in your original post, as shown above. Why would you think the forum changed the word "stupid" to "cretin" in one place but not the other? I'm yet again asking myself if this is simply trolling.
Why, because I have never used the word cretin - it isn't a word I use.

Just previously I put B S (letters together) and the forum removed the word completely, so I had to put falsehood in instead (another word I don't really use).

I do not know the reason why it happened (possibly the grammar in which it was used?) and I don't know why the word cretin was put in, but I did not use that word in my original post. You can believe or not. <O

OK, I'm going to leave it there. (y)

Meanwhile, I'm really keen to learn the secret of making a <10 minute Lave run. (I know it really doesn't make a difference but I always enjoy optimising things!) I now possess a lightly-engineered Phantom which can do it in 2 jumps each way, and my best run was I think closer to 11 minutes than 10.
I did observe with a wee bit of testing that the auto-launch and auto-docking add a good bit of time to each run (didn't really quantify it yet) but the big question for me is whether my supercruise technique is the obstacle.
Right now I'm trying to get the best out of the SCA - full manual throttle, pointing away from the station until lined up with the entrance, then allow the SCA to kick in - at which point it disables my throttle control entirely. On one trip I lined up rather late and the timer was at 4 seconds, then 3 ("slow down!") and I thought I might die but the SCA dropped me out perfectly at the station. I'd love to be able to do that consistently :)

Ahhh, now put stup-id in the text (just did that in case forum changes word again) - I think you will find the forum changed the wording.

So I did not put the word cretin in - thank you.
I believe the word stupid is fine.

There is competition.
You deliver those goods to the CG.
The FC owner delivers them to the Carrier. And if they think the CG will last till Wednesday, they will be in for a big surprise when the CG will finish Sunday night or early Monday morning.
And it the end you delivered 288t, they delivered none - while they might have 8000 in their carrier

Also, carriers generally compete for the 2-3 top tiers.
Top50% and Top75% were always easy going.
And that's all you need to attain to take part and win a FSD++
I was quite surprised to find I'd made it into the top 10% around midnight.

But I appreciate that this could change drastically in the next day or so, if I rest on my laurels (and maybe even if I don't).

I predict a huge shortage of apples, coffee and especially BEER at the summit but the station might catch fire/explode from the brandy fumes once an Imperial envoy lights his cigar.

Have you seen Geras?

My FC is around 0.12ls from the station (was 2nd there) and has several thousand tonnes loaded up ready to go.

Expect progress to speed up considerably today as we all move close to Luytens to offload.

yes, yes, that are 4 jumps laden!

Using Asp X I can do 2 jumps from Luyten to Lave but with the 48t brandy I cant do 2 jumps back to Luyten even after stripping the shields and using low fuel tank. Only thing left to downgrade is the Thrusters but screw that...

After getting sick of accidentally turning on silent running while accelerating and boosting simultaneously, which really sucks during interdictions, I reassigned the 'circle/accelerate' combo to '100% speed'.

Now, after auto-launch has put me close to the letterbox, and everything looks clear, I punch that combo, and then 'circle' until I can jump (when I still keep pressing 'circle' to jump faster, further away from the station.

Every little helps.

This will of course help the "little" guys too. (It'll reduce the amount by which the 75% threshold increases, because the CG will finish sooner.) Very generous of you sir! :D

I briefly snuck into the top 10% zone myself last night. Rechecked my logs, to see where the time was being used up and realised that I lied - my best run was 10 mins 29 seconds :ROFLMAO:. Am now suspecting that the docking and undocking is the main thing I can improve.
(Btw, something I really noticed after swapping from the Cutter to the Phantom: it takes the station a LOT longer to turn around the big ship! The animation was still going for ages after I finished navigation stuff in the Cutter, but in the Phantom I can only just beat it.)

@WaveRider a few facts you may or may not know or may or may not have worked out.

1. ALL CGs used to be at Outposts with M landing Pads only, it changed for this run of CGs late last year. Same issues were had before with Sidey v Python, one would obviously win every time. Tea-Baggers are a good group though if you aint found em yet where the FC helps the smaller ships. Its a proper Community Goal that way.
2. Distance is paramount: 3 scenarios all at the 'extreme'

a. Next System Sourcing - the goods needed are in the next system 15LY away. In this scenario FCs are at a disadvantage as they will lose time docking, jumping and unloading their FC instead of just delivering in the first place.
b. 5000LY CG - where goods are KLY away (we aint had many gad a couple 800LY ish and Colonia was 15KLY) - The FC is at an obvious Advantage, it can load up, do the jumping and unload with far less time and effort and mindless jumping.
c. The middle ground (I have no idea what this distance actually is) - Where its exactly the same time to load, jump and unload an FC as it is to do many return journeys there in a ship. Karma is achieved.

Modifiers are availability of Goods, like Rares which slow down the FC Owner, they can only stock up once every 10 minutes regardless. How effective this is is down to implementation and to a degree Boom or other states as well.

An issue is that they started only giving the extras to the top 75%, which creates a 'me v them race' mentality instead of an 'I am contributing we are all in it together' mentality. Better that now its just a free or cheaper Module but everyone still gets one if they buy one.

Better to take your latest mentality (its about the final discount not the 75%) and do it with that or you'll just get fed-up with the whole affair. 25% of people will not get into the top 75% whatever they do so it is certainly not 'easy' when 1/4 people fail. People who say that its easy just dont understand %s and maths. Luckily a lot of the bottom 25% will be Alt accts or people just doing one run so active players have more chance to get the freebie as well as the global outcomes.

I did do a thread on it at the start of the this run of CGs, 'Fleet Carriers Ruined the CG, Yes or No?' - search for it and post there if you want. Tried to give both sides of the argument.

Overall though, probably get used to it. Or sit it out if it isnt appealing, you get the outcomes whether you sit out or not.

I personally dont see why theres any split of 75% or wherever it is. But thats why this CG is taking place in the first place, because of the backlash when the module actually matters and only 75% got it last time.

Oh and at the peak very recently it was 20-40hrs to earn 5bn, nowhere near the 400 that someone is trying to convince you. It might be now but it wasnt when the vast majority of FCs were bought....some used eggsploits too but hey whos mentioning that when 400hrs is such a good number to make up.

Btw, the Geras - Yurchikhin Port trip took me 33 minutes (and 3 seconds) 27 minutes and 43 seconds
From the moment i started the turn at Geras till the touchdown at station.

top speed was 1221c

i think heisenbergs work is still one of the best ressources: https://canonn.science/codex/optimal-supercruise-flight-paths/

otherwise i'll just refer to http://www.buckyballracing.org.uk/videos.html - two videos there covering loop and swoop vs gravity assist braking.

Just to clear, even if I don't take part in this round of delivery missions.

I can still buy the ++engineered module from brokers on the back of everyone else' work?

I tried transporting Lavian Brandy before but not much reached the destination, glug glug :)

Even if the stupid hangover hasn’t cleared up before the discount period ends two weeks after the CG due date.
