Ships Vulture Rate my Vulture 🙂

Generally a very solid build. Only one suggestion really, try frag cannons! The Vulture is extremely agile, though it's not the fastest ship in the galaxy. G5 thrusters will help you there. Frag cannons have two issues. They use ammo very quickly, but you can synthesize and furthermore, these days there's almost always (often) a FC a few LS away. The other problem with frags is that you need to be close, really close, for them to do damage. They fire in a wide angle like a sawed down shotgun, but the Vulture allows you to get as close as you want against larger ships. The smaller ships can be more of a challenge but one "lucky punch" of a set of frags can take out their shield and most of the hull.

If you decide to follow my advice and try frags, go for Rapid Fire / Screening shell. I promise, once you understand those, you won't need any other guns. They are crazy efficient at short range. The first couple of times you try to get within 50-100 meters of an angry Elite Conda, while staying out of its firing angle is exciting, but once you've taken down its shields with a few shots (literally), you suddenly feel a lot more confident. That is what the Vulture is all about. Still my favorite combat ship hands down.
Try the peacekeepers.

I like your Vulture - no matter what you do she’ll probably serve you great.

personally I like my Vulture setup a litte differently.

I like lasers for the moment, my favorite setup is effective beams for dps/energy consumption paired with rapid fire pulses with scramble spectrum - these things are great fun and cause all kinds of mischief on your target when the shield drops - like shutting downs engines or the like. Otherwise they just perform like a good laser.
My build is more of a do anything kind. I can muck about doing whatever and maybe swap out a module here and there.
but this build will take on elite corvettes with some patience.

I’m on the chieftain train for an upgrade.
The Fdl and FAS both have great pitch, but in my opinion bad lateral thrusters and they both drag and stall in combat. Coming from a vulture they feel like a step down.

the chieftain has the same shields, but better armour and much higher dps potential with some added module possibilities.
my build

It follows the same rule as my Vulture above, it can do most anything if you swap out a couple of modules.
Some don’t like the chief because of the small hardpoints. Some use rails with great effect. I prefer to use rapid fire pulses - again with scramble spectrum for that mischief. Of course I’ve added a MC with corrosive effect.

this chief build flyes almost like my Vulture - but you have grade 5 upgrade the thrusters or it kind of sucks (drags and glides).

if you want a pure dogfight/flightsim option - try the challenger - it’s extremely good at pitch manouvering

Try the peacekeepers.
Peacekeepers? Do you mean pacifiers? I've tried but I don't have the patience for PP. Also the frags do (slightly) more damage as long as you're close to the target. I ram the opponent to a halt, and often I'm then close enough to finish them before they get control of their spin or realize they are just about to die ;)

I've tried both the Chief and the FAS as a potential upgrade, but nothing comes even close to the fun I have in the Vulture. They both pack more punch, but lack the agility, making them somewhat meh. Not being hit is better than any shield or hull. Instead I'm currently looking at Eagles and Vipers, but they are pretty fragile (mostly against wings). You can't ram with those, but especially the Eagle is great fun to fly, and for PvE it's fine. PvP not so much. That might change once I finish gathering those Guardian Blueprints I never got around to after getting the FSD booster. Time will tell...

Completely off topic. Make sure to get on today. I wanna fight. I'll be around Shinrarta all day today.

I somewhat feel the same. The Vulture is the cornerstone of my ED experience - I always return to it. The Chieftain is, in my opimion, simply the best and most obvious choice if you want to go bigger with the same characteristics. It simply takes better modules and do more damage with somewhat better protection and almost a comparable flightmodel as the Vulture.

I generally favor small ships. Beside my Vulture - the viper mk IV has been my go to for years.

Vulture => Chieftain = No
Vulture => FDL = Yes
See base shield !
How many times I gotta tell you the FDL is too advanced for most pilots? It's the best ship to eventually transition to but it requires way too much pip management and precise boost timing for pilots getting into medium ships for the first time.
The Chieftain and FAS are hull tanks, of course they don't have the same base shields. Just because the FDL has good shields, doesn't make it the best "next ship" after the vulture.

game on shield != game on hull tank.
Try to play PVE from the hull. They'll just put you on a rockets.
