Raw materials prospecting is terrible gameplay and makes no sense in terms of technology lore

I am 10m above the planet or should I say moon 3aa at 52.006, -165.8796 and there is nothing in sight.
52.6 not 52.006. That is off by enough to make a difference.
My second commander account is short in Selenium so I might head out there myself but can't until Friday. Are you online 07:00 to 08:00 game time in the morning or 17:00 to 18:00?

I found 4 groups of tree at those coord. At the correct coord (they are now imprinted in my brain}. At the group of 4 trees all were G2. I apologize for not updating post earlier.

There is a mix of materials on the trees with many of them having G4 Selenium. There was a time I had memorised a map of which trees had the Selenium. There is a picture guide/map on the internet somewhere. I just go around collecting anything that drops as enough of it is Selenium. I spend a bit longer doing it but have a more relaxing time collecting.

FYI , In Odyssey HR 3230 3 aa is no longer there. HR 3230 3 has no moons.

HR 3230 3 is a brown dwarf star, the stellar forge was not changed between Old Horizons and new Odyssey, no planets or moons were added or subtracted, are you sure you have the correct objects?

My oldest son plays Elite Dangerous a bit, but isn't as an avid a fan as most of us. He's away at university about 2 hour drive away these days, so not too far.
But there are other ways to meet up when you are an Elite Dangerous commander. I went for a short trip in my DBX last night to meet up with my son who is studying physics and astrophysics. The gas giants in this system are interesting on paper if not in appearance due to their very low mass for their size (1) and (2) it's a ringed gas giant on the horizon in binary orbit with another planet similar to (1).
