On a side note the Weeping Angel model is not bad and something that would certainly add to the theme options. I wonder if in later life Frontier will try to get a company like BBC, Disney (who they already have ties with from previous games) or similar signed up to do themed content that is specific so we could build our own Doctor Who theme or something?
I would love such themed content to play with - and I always thought PC could benefit from a little real world IP. Specifically I feel it's odd they haven't collaborated with at least a major theme park group, it seems like the cross benefits to both parties would make it a no brainer. Theme park gamers are theme park visitors and vice versa, so why not swap the IP?
There is one MAJOR potential park that is under development in the UK and would also equal ties with BBC, and as such Doctor Who, Top Gear (such as it is now) and Sherlock:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Paramount. A branding deal with this new park would be amazing as it's exactly the sort of park I think a lot of people really want to build in PC. Who wouldn't want to recreate a DW dark ride or a Top Gear launch coaster?
As for more specific themed stuff, such as Doctor Who characters/baddies etc... I agree the idea of a weeping angel in the game is good. But I feel it's the sort of thing best left up to the fans to create as and when games get UGC or the professionals only if they have rights to the IP. The problem with Atari doing it themselves without the official rights, is that they had to make it different enough from the real one (hence the face palm one hand lol) to not get sued. But of course, in the world of UGC, a fan would have created something as authentically as possible - and slapped a load of other obvious DW content into the pack.
EDDDIITTTT!!!!
Did I just make a major discovery? Are Frontier already looking very closely at this park?
Check this image!!! See any 'inspiration' frontier may have taken?
