Re: No Sense Of Scale

I am comparing it because the windows look the same. In terms of sense of scale, from a distance with no other objects to compare it with, the Clipper looks the same as an Embraer.

Ah ok. The Biz jet would happily fit under the wing of the Clipper . You can also see on the bridge of the Clipper, enough space for plenty of people to walk around. That biz jet is a cramped space that can barely fit two crew members. Even the Bridge of the Cobra would dwarf the Cockpit on that bizjet.

Corvette.
Little bit bigger than I thought.

I thought this was going to be about the scale of planets which is off even in VR.

How is the scale off in planets? It has been proven multiple times that scale is correct.

Every now and then I come across some driver on the road doing something insane and judging distance completely wrong, then I read comments about scale and distance on threads like these and nothing surprises me.

For me it's the textures in ED that make it difficult to feel the scale. Textures are quite bad to be honest and VR only emphasizes that. Those traffic control towers in stations look like shoe boxes size wise and the "human size" doors that are put on them for size refference look like mouse holes. The painted on windows on stations and ground installations just look too small and fake. Same goes for lots of details on ships like the "carbon fiber" finish on some imperial ships where its large pattern makes your hulking Cutter look like its the size your average riced out Honda Civic. Panels on stations' exterior when they should be hundreds of meters wide look like they are just 10 meters wide.
