Re The Salome Incident - Coroner's Enquiry

Yeah, I understand. And the answer there is CoR, plus a possibly long and completely unsafe friend list.

Probably mostly true. I think that the outcome was mostly about HP being on Salomé's friend list, and CoR being under-equipped (three defenders wasn't enough given instancing problems). But PAC's mistakes probably had some impact.

To be clear, I'm embarrassingly clueless about most BGS-related stuff. I just like flying around in spaceships.

I'm more interested in the way this went down from a real-world POV.

Fundamentally, I would have thought that the protagonists should have just had each other in their friend list and then everything else should have simply been luck of the draw.
As it was, it seems like various people couldn't resist a "jobs for the boys" attitude which created the pathway to what happened.
And, in the mean-time, heaps of people who weren't "properly connected" just wasted their time.

And, as you say, for those who are invested in the BGS it must be rather frustrating to have the outcome decided on the basis of "the lulz" rather than due to any sincere effort.

There's no body left, the ship exploded and she was pulverized to dust by Harry's beautiful yellow laser beams.

Harry actually messaged the defender's, telling them to slow down so the defence fleet could catch up. They did so.

He then sent his SDC buddies to interdict the actual defenders to give him a clear shot at Salome.

He then interdicted her and killed her.

Say what you like, it was absolutely beautiful subterfuge. Harry Potter and SDC had been planning this for weeks.

Definitely negligence on behalf of the defence force in ordering defenders to go unarmed or risk being destroyed by their own side. Negligence in allowing known terrorists to infiltrate their organisation and allowed access to VIP.

Basically, PAC should be torn to shreds, because the leaders were a bunch of self important neck beards and they got their comeuppance.

On that note, I'm wondering if the Pilots Federation will conduct a board of inquiry regarding their "de-clawing" of any and all defenders of Salomé.

If I do an exposé/write-up, I'm gonna' need the source of all your excellent info. Were you there, or are you closely involved with any of the major factions?

<snip>...

Oh, sure. For once their actions are actually perfectly easy to justify in-character. My only issue with griefers is it makes for a universe of bizarre unchoosy psychopathic mass murderers with no sense of personal safety... which is just jarring. <snip>...

Maybe because that is Frontier's vision for the Galaxy? On other occasions I've wondered why Frontier seemed so fond of SDC. See how excited they get when HP shows up in their livestream.

Some time ago SDC and similar groups were part of a discussion in:re C&P.

I posted that FD may be loath to do anything to affect SDC and similar. It seemed to me that they view SDC as apex predators and the culmination of "Dangerous" , and admired within FD. This is strictly subjective and empirical, but I hold that belief.

That they had a part in Salome's demise is not surprising to me. SDC played judas to Salome's martyrdom, in a story line that isn't original. It appears the principals played their parts well and most everyone else served as unknowing props in the drama.

How this event will be judged is being played out now.

One obvious result is that SDC continues to punch above their membership numbers.

Is Salomé the same person as Salome?

Was Salome a decoy of Salomé?

Who really killed the real Salomé?

Is the government deceiving us? :D

I am worried about all of this.

If Salami is in fact dead, does that mean that the price of Pepperami will go up drastically? Do I need to stockpile on my favourite late night snacks?

On a less important side note, the more I read & watch about SDC, the more I find them to be absolutely hilarious. I applaud their actions totally. The idiot carebears "running" this debacle with their grandiose "disarm yourselves" proclamations etc should be hounded into an embarrassed self inflicted state of isolation. What a bunch of pillocks! I mean, it's a game, who takes this stuff that seriously in the first place? Get a life!

Excuse my ignorance (and it clearly is ignorance since eveyone else seems to know the answer to this, even those who didn't know that CoR was "Children of Raxla") ... but who are PAC? What does that stand for? I heard Paroxsym on Lave Radio talking about having a few days of communication before they finally trusted (LOL) Mr Potter and allowed him into the Salome defence group (I honestly put my head in my hands when I heard him say that) ... anyway, is PAC the group that Paroxsym was representing
