CQC Real men PvP in CQC, only carebears PvP in the main game

Yeah, you heard me! So come at me all you carebear PvPers, hiding behind you bazillion HP shields and hulls, hiding in the safety of your meta ships.

CQC is seeing a bit of a revival thanks to DW2 and gives you a chance to show off your PvP skills in a fast paced environment where skill determines the day more than how many hours you have spent grinding for the ultimate ship.

Come on, take a risk of actually getting killed for once in your scaredy cat lives. You might finally grow some nads.

(Will be available for pew-pew periodically during the day and in the evening).

"Fast paced": Hangs 5 hours in match queue.
"Get killed for once": I die more often in open than in CQC. ~7 KDR in deathmatch easy.
"Take a risk": Where is the risk? I neither die because people can't aim with fixed weapons against my SR Condor and if I die I lose nothing.

Don't get me wrong but weren't you a mod once?
Real men git gud.

Yes, come and test your "skill" in a game mode that has 100% gimballed weapons, 2s TTK, engagements that are decided by who fires first, no risk of rebuy or anything meaningful with regards to ingame factions/powerplay/squadrons, extremely limited ship/weapon/loadout diversity, and is easily exploited by just camping powerups and cheesing. Not to mention that it's completely dead in my timezone.

Unlike 70% of the Elite playerbase, I would rather spend my time playing the game than staring at a timer.

Nope, no queue hanging recently. Been getting games quickly.

Talk is cheap.

Yes, and it is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. Mods aren't allowed to like PvP or something? *scratches head*

Working on that. Won my first ever CQC match today! I was overjoyed. I even did a little jig!

You've never played it? They aren't full gimballed. They have quite small gimball arcs.

The 2s TTK (a slight exaggeration there) is a plus! It means its fast paced instead of the yawn fest you see when you get two decent PvPers going at in the main game... that's just boring.

No risk of rebuy? And? PvP is only decent if someone loses something? Welp, best tell all those highly popular AAA PvP arena games to pack up and go home. Anyway, what are you really losing in the main game? Credits are so easy to get that rebuys are a joke. Face it, you're risking nothing, especially you Rinzler. You're top tier PvPer and i'm sure you've got plenty of credits spare to have a thousand rebuys. Risk my big hairy rear end!

The limited diversity is a plus as it allows a modicum of balance.

As for being dead in your timezone - yeah, that might be an issue. Have you tried recently?

As for your final line - no idea what you mean. I also generally prefer the main game, but playing CQC is proving to be a lot of fun.

...still fully gimballed. There are no fixed weapons in CQC.

Not a plus at all. Aspects of PvP such as aiming skills, loadout creativity, manoeuvres, boost timing, boost bleeding, subtargeting, pip management, range control, heat management, banks vs cascade, evasion, peeling, pip pressure, ship knowledge etc are literally nonexistent in CQC.

It isn't a measure of skill by any stretch of the imagination. It just boils down to who fires first, and who camps the powerups.

The feeling of risk is what makes PvP even better. Nothing beats the feeling of a fight that gets so close that you start getting the shakes from adrenaline.

Extremely limited diversity is also what makes it more boring. To be fair, the same can be said about the hordes of trash tier FDL tryhards crowding community goals.

I used to try every week or so, but got the same outcome. Much more success finding normal PvP in the main game.

Referring to my attempts at finding matches (staring at the "searching for match" timer). Given that 70% of the community seems to enjoy staring at timers rather than playing the game, I found it amusing.

Both games are fun IMO, but they are entirely different games. CQC more like an old school coin-op, like Afterburner.

OP should be a little ashamed with the thread title. Despite having never ganked without comms or traveled to DW2, I was told "I pray you catch it in your zipper every time you go" in another thread. A lot of vitriol coming from that side and they don't even realize it. Now OP tying things to "real" manhood. Weak, even if was in jest.

ZO. ZO. ZO.

Oh well, keep enjoying your PvP in absoloute safety then. It is called Elite: Dangerous though. :p
