After proposing a few of Dream and impossible patch notes here i am going to put together a bunch of patch notes that are REALISTIC and doable in the game and in my opinion they will improve the game.


In my opinion all of this modifications can be done in Elite at the moment and will make Elite an amazing game.

OF COURSE ALL OF THEM CANT BE MADE FOR THE 1.4 PATCH.. but would be nice to have them in the future.


Social tools:



-Fix the upnp problem which is causing that a lot of players are in open mode but they cant see anybody, there must be a problem with the network for sure.

-Wings, you are currently working on it, that’s fine but add some way of money transfer, share missions.


Bookmarks added!!: now you can save your favorite locations and make notes about them.

Faction,Naval chats ADDED! : When you reach the status of Allied with one faction, you get in to a global faction chat where you can comunicate with players of the same faction, when you reach a specific rank in the navy of that faction you will get in to another chat only for commanders on the navy just like you.



Ships, Modules:




-Introducing infomation about modules stats, like the SHIELD GENERATORS NOW give the amount of shield provided, or SHIELD CELLS now tell you how much amount of shield you can recharge.

Give that information in all the modules,weapons etc..


-Balance ships: A decked out cobra can boost at around 440 in 3 times with all pips to engines if you lower the weight enough and normal speed can be around 310 same hard-points, more shield, more armor, same maneuverability when is way bigger than the viper... and is not combat only focused... not to mention that has more slots for shield cells and stuff..

Bigger ships are now faster in super cruise due to the FSD DRIVE class but they are slower in normal speed than small ships.


-Tweaking (overclocking?) your ship! Now you can be like Han solo and Chewbacca and modify your ship modules!!, maybe you need more speed? Well engines will be overheating and may be damaged at some point is up to you!


You can overclock a module in a station it gives you one stat at the cost of another one, for example you can overclock your engine to give about 10 more speed but it drains engine pips faster and over time can be damaged.


Shield cells now consume energy from shield pips, like chaffs and they have a cool-down, the better class the less cool-down and are limited to one module per ship.



-More Different modules and weapons including rare ones added and existing weapons rebalanced in terms of clip size to me all weapons viable in PVP and PVE.

BPCS ADDED!! : Now you can find BPCS of rare weapons and modules that are extremly RARE , like weapons based on alien technology or thrusters with some crazy and great modifications and you need to give them to a station in order to be built and pay whatever the station wants to ask you for ir.



Mining:

-Tractor beam for mining added! Forget about scoop all day long! If you can afford it of course!!
-Mine drones added! Now you can put your small drones to mine!
-The more away of the civilization you are mining the more expensive things you will get and more purity you will find.


Bounty Hunting:




Cmdr docking data in stations can be bought at galaxy map like Exploration or Trading data, so you can trace the TOP WANTED CMDRS.


-Add a new list on star port services, THE MOST WANTEDS, only CMDRS and you can list it from the most wanted to the less wanted and if you purchase the data you can see their last 5 docking and how many times they did in a small period of time also if they are online or not.



Exploration:



Exploration missions added!!: Now Factions will ask you for scout the enemy territory or find a specific system with a specific requirements, if you sell the data to them they will reward you accordingly and you will get reputation.


-USS and Resource extraction points tweaked, the more away you are from the civilization the more interesting and weird stuff you will find, like BPCS of rare modules or weapons.



-Increased the amount of money you can get by selling exploration data.


-Advanced discovery scanner now identifies everything on a system there is no need to point each celestial object to see what they are, if you want to get more money you need to approach and use surface scanner.


-Surface scanner now can scan Resource extraction points and belts and see what they have to offer, this data can be sold to a miner player for example.


Trading:




The more valuable is your cargo the more dangerous NPC will try to hunt you down, you may want to hire some friends to protect yourself and your goods!.

Piracy and Smuggling:


Pirate factions and reputations made relevant. Anarchy systems are now MUCH more dangerous, especially if you are not affiliated with the pirate faction controlling it.
Smuggling: Illegal black market goods are now worth 250% in large stations with security in which they are illegal.




Conflict Zones, war and flipping systems:





-Conflict zones reworked!:


Once a system gets in to a civil war Conflict zones will spawn, now they have a timer to be conquered(kill all npcs, or small structures or capital ships depending on low-med or high intensity zone) once this timer is over, another conflict zone will spawn the faction with more conflict zones conquered wins the war and gets the system.

-Conflict zones now give reputation and will help to get military ranks with the faction you choose and you loose it with the other faction.


-Reputation, and military ranks now give several benefits at different stations, like better prices, reputation items only sold at several stations or access to specific ships.



NAVAL RANKS AND MISSIONS REWORKED:



Naval ranks now grant military faction chat, so you can chat with all the CMDRS on the navy of the major faction your are enlisted.


Now the alliance has also ranks


IF you want to rank up you need to do specific naval missions in all three major factions.


To rank up your missions will be most of the time Combat based but can be based on exploration or even trading specific things throw enemy systems:


-Go to empire zone and investigate what is happening on the moon of x planet in x system, we think that they may be building a new type of ship there... you go there and you will find several security vessels of the enemy faction and your mission will update with fighting orders or just to come back with all the data.


Ranks are not easy to get and you will need several missions and the more rank you are the more difficult the mission will be to the point that maybe you need to group to finish a mission with other CMDRS in the NAVY.




NPC Re-balance:



Bigger ships like Anacondas, Pythons etc.. will be piloted only by experts pilots NPCS and above only.


The bigger NPC rating the more bounty or better cargo they carry, and harder they are to kill.


If a player is Expert or above chances to get more Expert and above enemies increase, this is made to allow progression and let the player feel that he is getting better as long as the enemy get better and they better the payments are.

what Dyseqta said plus some of this don't make 100% sense anyway especially combat zone stuff.. ok so your fighting 2 fed navy factions who are at civil war.. how do you LOOSE rank with one side and not the other.. both are FED NAVY. Look no one will disagree that there is stuff that needs working on, but as Dyseqta said, frontier have their roadmap, they will do what THEY want, at the moment there are 15 more ships waiting to get into the game not to mention wings and some other things.

On 'balance' look what you class as 'balance' and what others class as Balance are too different things.. Just because something is 'bigger' does NOT mean that it's not more agile.. especially in SPACE. All Space Agility requires is Thrust in the right position and at the right amount of force, that's it .. it's simple INERTIA nothing more, nothing less.. The reason for some of the bigger ships being as agile as a sidewinder? Their Thrusters are big enough and powerful enough to allow it simple as that.

On FSD course the size is gonna matter.. bigger FSD = bigger field. But by and large from what I've seen FSD speeds are the same no matter what your in.
 
The mining bit sounds great but the trading bit is madness why should a trader with no weapons get attacked more & often with out any consequences then a bounty a rise on the attacker ?

Collecting fragments is fun and requires a small amount of skill (to do at a decent speed)

Going into an asteroid area and just sitting there while a tractor beam does all the work for you? Way to ruin the game.. It would kill mining stone dead for me, I don't want a "press x to collect ore" dumbed down option. It's fine as it is.

If you don't have the patience to collect ore, don't whine for Frontier to change it for the rest of us.

Mining drones? No if it's a mechanic that encourages AFK gameplay. Anything that does that should be flat denied.

Money transfer should only be available for a service provided. Player donations would be a bad idea - the moment you do that, the bounty system becomes easily exploitable. Got a huge bounty that's worth more than your ship? No problem, just get a friend to kill you and send you the money.

You know tractor beams are a viable thing and in fact currently in real life we are on a breakthrough on this technology.

Hell even magnetic device to pull in some metals. It's hard to think in a future with the ability to travel past light speed they would still use a basic scoop honesty

I am also with the above poster though anything that encourages afk gameplay should be shot down right away.

He clearly says "If you can afford it", meaning it doesn't REPLACE your option to scoop. You can keep scooping all day long if you really find it fun as you say.

What a silly thread. Frontier will do what Frontier has in Frontier's Elite: Dangerous development road map. Your polls and patch dreams amount to nothing. Just play the game, patches will come as and when they do.

is just a way of finding rare modules but instead of getting the module you need to give the bpc to a station and they will build it for you for an amount... this will encourage exploration etc...

And well... if you think is so nice to be pointing to each planet even belts to reveal the whole map.... well.. i think that that is pretty boring , if you get the whole map then u can aproach to the planet you want to see or scan , you dont need to lose 2 hours scaning every celestial object over and over rinse and repeat, that just makes no sense unless you have OCD



Faction chat would be amazing to let the players organice to swich systems and increase the influence here and there... that would be amazing but yea.. way better to be alone in an empty galaxy.

Why? If in - making sense - range, like 1Ly, then I dont see point why not, you have radio comm, you have encoded transmissions on some frequencies. Maybe use solution from fan made games like FOnline, you have frequencies and range, and you and all your friends can use it, anyone can try to access them and encode. This may be also nice background for missions or spies, or even wars between factions.
 
If they removed SOLO mode from the game in the next patch, I would be very pleased.
at which point solo players would make there own 1 person group or do you want to get rid of groups as well, because then you would find either the bulk of groupplayers would just leave the game or half the open players would end up on block lists.

So then all people do is create a private game and play in that how is that any different, what is wrong if people want to play in solo mode?

I spend most of my time in open play and jump over to private when I want to (almost) guarantee that myself and my mate in the same system will be in the same instance!

As for the list of request I have to say No to most of them but I liked the Explore missions and the bookmarks idea, that said I am going to start using CMDRs Log that I just downloaded.
 
Lets not talk about the solo mode , that is just not going to happen, what they have to do is make open more interesting to encourage solo players to play in open , thats all.
