i'm sorry, am i reading patch notes for EVE 2.0? i'm sorry but muck of those suggestions you have listed would, in my opinion, destroy a lot of the character and what makes elite unique in its own way. we don't need a carbon copy of another game.
why can't you just play the game we have, whats made rather then try to change it to something it is not, not been intended to be from all indications?

This. Get the cowards back into the game. I'd also like to see Groups go away too if and when the other multiplayer aspects like wings are introduced.

there was a poll on this topic last night that got closed after the debate reached its usual critical mass and ended up becoming another version of trench warfare simulator 2014, with both sides dug in deeply sniping at each other. last i seen the poll it was 14% vs 86% for keeping the current structure. that's a large portion or people that seem to feel this way. why can't this be taken into account for once? surely you would not want to further inflame this thread by statement like that, do you?

I think there are a lot of good ideas in that.

My main concern at the moment is diversity. Actually after only two weeks I'm running out of things to do without getting bored especially since the main two goals you can have are: You can either mine and trade and earn yourself to death and have a fleet of Anacondas in the end, and then what? For me it's not a worthwhile goal, especially since I prefer fast and nimble ships for combat. Or you can kill and kill until you're Elite. Nice ...

IMHO especially the BB missions can help here. As they are now they're basically all the same and fall into those categories:
- Get or find me some stuff
- Get some stuff somewhere
- Go somewhere and shoot someone

That gets very repetetive after a while especially since it's hard to get some degree of accomplishment out of that. And IMHO that's a problem everwhere in Elite Danerous at the moment. You do the same things over and over again and the only thing it gets you is a fuller bank account and/or some title that won't help you any in the game.

Even if you do a mission for one of the factions and earn a rank you're not PART of that faction. Noone comes to you and tells you well done, and invites you for a drink and lets you in on the deeper secrets in Federation politics. You are and always seem to be destined to be a anonymous mercenary who never knows why he hunted down and killed General Whatshisname. I always like to compare Elite a bit to Sid Meyer's Pirates!. After all they're both from the same era, both open world games, both with a lot of fighting, trading and fun. However Pirates also has a political aspect and relationships to a degree: you could marry a woman who then fed you gossip (without naggfing that you're never home) and other intel you could use to achieve some goal. You had bars in every port to pick up information and gossip you needed for your missions. And if you treated the English Viceroy well he rewarded you as well. And intel and rewards are completely missing from Elite Dangerous:

My Commander's universe thus basically will always stay the same and my Commander is always alone, because there are no relationships to anyone. No commodities broker who you've dealt with a lot and thus gives you better prices, or offers you a shady deal on the side. No station commander you helped out with some pirates and who gives you a safe haven if you're running from the fuzz or some nice little secret upgrade for your ship for free (which of course is not available on the free market).
- I would like to find out that some guy knows something about an evil plot against my good friend the station commander of Ackerman Market, find the guy, diable his ship, question him, maybe hold him for ransom and find out there's a whole story behind that, which brings me to one mission after another until I uncovered the whole conspiracy.
- I would love to do a joint mission with some other Empire Navy NPCs attacking an outpost with a secret new ship (I can temporarily use for the mission and may get to keep as a reward if I complete enough missions) I'd be a part of a joint strike against some evil warlord threatening the outskirts of the empire.
- Of course I could also be asked to fly escort for a convoy of pythons through a civil war region and protect them from attackers.
- Simple suspiciously well paid courier mission to get some secret documents to a different system. You can already see how that will turn out.
- Or how about a high profit mission transporting a prince(ss) to some obsure system 150 Ly away in order for her to be the new king or queen while being attacked by ships of the opposition (and having his/her eternal gratitude in case I fall on hard times and need a favor in the future).

Just a few ideas.

This is a blue print, you find one of those of a weapon or a new module and you bring it to a station and the station build it up for you for a price.
I know what a blueprint is, but "BPC" is not a common abbreviation. I gather that is some EvE lingo that normal people usually don't come into contact with?

Mining drones of some kind are already planned afaik.

I dont think they should touch ship balance much apart from shield cells yet.

The AI needs a full overhaul, not just a few tweaks. There are lots of issues with it.

Op you have some nice ideas. True, some might be taken from eve, while the others are just a normal multiplayer standard these days (like functioning local chats, clan chats, or chats of any kind!).

I played second Elite on amiga, played wing commander 3, 4 ,... x-wing, X3: reunion, albion, prelude tried even the latest one (for like 20min it's just garbage). I also played Eve.

Elite dangerous has by far the best foundations to build upon. But games is boring like hell.

Do I want Elite Dangerous to be eve online? wing commander? X3?

no, but each of those games sure had some things I loved. X3 had sectors so small they were a joke, graphics and flight model were terrible too. But ability to build your own ships, to set patrols with wings for your sectors, to bring in a station in a hauler and set it up and have your ships parked there and assign them commands or just to meet 3 of your own ships coming into the sector, just doing their routine patrol mission, sparkled more imagination and had more depth and made me more satisfied then the whole galaxy in here. I liked approach X3 took with that by far more then the one from eve.

Wing commander - dogfighting was great as it is in elite, but there's a major difference. WC had a story going with it, so I felt I'm a pilot there serving, missions had progression, it all made sense and I loved how my commander told me what impact making the mission will have on future of empire (or whatever). So it felt like you actually achieved something and it felt great. You had a purpose to do the next mission. But as in x3, the universe wasn't really there.

Eve online - I always hated that I can't control my ship with a joystick. I did play it for few years, but I never really got over the joystick thing. I also hated that every single damn thing I wanted to do, I needed someone's help to do it. Need to jump a carrier? no alt? beg in corp. Want to move something valuable? no alt? beg. Want to buy something far far far away? beg. Want to intercept someone? beg for bubble. Beg beg beg... Let's fight someone? wait for your 500 people to gather up for ages, then waste hours pressing f1 to kill the other 500. But! Eve sure had some things nicely solved. As the guy mentioned, mining drones are nice, traction beams also. And the chat system was very good, I wouldn't mind some sort of system chat and some sort of group/corp chat at all. And market was great in eve, people could have traded with each other. The amount of stuff for ships was also good. I don't expect nearly as much stuff in elite of course, but I do find it redicolus that in a game where trading is so important you can't trade money or any item with other players. But do I want Elite dangerous to turn into eve? No, I absolutely love the solo mode in here (well the multiplayer seems the same, only that people can me while I'm hauling stuff or trying to kill some npc :D ), but I sure wouldn't mind to grind some money in it, switch to multiplayer where I would be in some corp/group or whatever and we went to kill some poor guy and have some fun in chat while at it.

So what I want from this game is: Elite universe and scale and flight model, X3 reunions ability to have more ships and control on them + building your stations and collecting stations into complexes producing some goods, eve's chats' and more stuff for ships like in eve, Wing Commander's mission structures.

I tell you guys in Frontier, you make that happen, everyone will be happy, well except Mr. Braben maybe. He wants to land on the planet and drive in a buggy on it? I want to shoot a death beam and crush the planet! I want to send a fleet to bomb the damn planet and turn it into the hell (if it's not near the sun). I want to fight for federation and be proud on slaughtering those Empire/Alliance guys. I want to watch their fleets try to take over federation system, people have a chat in federation chat and go there and defend it and kick their behinds. And when I reach highest rank for federation military, I want those Police npc's to stop scanning me and apologize for doing it, or listen to what I tell them. I mean I guess at that point my rank in military is over theirs isn't it?

And if I get tired of everything I just want to go few thousand Ly aways and build myself a self sustaining colony in some system and have ships mining stuff, then watching my haulers transport that to my station and have that station build stuff, and watch my trade ships deliver that over the galaxy. But hold on for a moment and take a moment to observe my Capital ship with 3 destroyers and fighter escort floating by and making sure operation runs smoothly! (sort of like authority ships).

And while they work, I'll go and try to reach that Saggittarius A* .

I mean, it's 200 billion stars in here. It's enough of place for everyone to do whatever they want and have fun at it. We just need tools and ability to do them.

Really love the following ideas:

- bookmarks: we need them, i'm taking notes now about the systems i like and where i can find stuff, i have an ipad handy to do that but having an ingame tool could be a thousand times more immersive and overall, better
- faction/naval chats: yeah, but i would add a local chat for every system (much like eve online), i'd also like to be able to create a chat and invite people
- module stats: this is something the game really needs, give us numbers! (i hate those progress bar thingies, they don't make much sense to me)

BPCs? no please
mining drones? why not, something else to shoot at

i'd like to have the following things on the next patch notes:

- accidental bounties, if you shoot somebody by mistake you are now able to send a message to the NPC notifying them about it and have the bounty removed
- added numeric values for reputation gains/losses and a piece of interface reporting all your standings with all the factions/systems
- added bounty sheet reporting all your current fines/bounties specifying in which systems you have them
- fixed the slow route calculation, now if you plan a route on the other side of the milky way it doesn't take hours to calculate your path
- improved scanner: you are now able to filter what you see on your radar (USS/ship/planets/CZs etc)

In my opinion all of this modifications can be done in Elite at the moment and will make Elite an amazing game.

OF COURSE ALL OF THEM CANT BE MADE FOR THE 1.4 PATCH.. but would be nice to have them in the future.
So your saying if all of these don't appear it is a deliberate exclusion?

Social tools:

-Fix the upnp problem which is causing that a lot of players are in open mode but they cant see anybody, there must be a problem with the network for sure.

-Wings, you are currently working on it, that’s fine but add some way of money transfer, share missions.

Bookmarks added!!: now you can save your favorite locations and make notes about them.

Faction,Naval chats ADDED! : When you reach the status of Allied with one faction, you get in to a global faction chat where you can communicate with players of the same faction, when you reach a specific rank in the navy of that faction you will get in to another chat only for commanders on the navy just like you.
In system maybe?

Ships, Modules:

-Introducing information about modules stats, like the SHIELD GENERATORS NOW give the amount of shield provided, or SHIELD CELLS now tell you how much amount of shield you can recharge.

Give that information in all the modules, weapons etc..

Sounds good

-Balance ships: A decked out cobra can boost at around 440 in 3 times with all pips to engines if you lower the weight enough and normal speed can be around 310 same hard-points, more shield, more armor, same maneuverability when is way bigger than the viper... and is not combat only focused... not to mention that has more slots for shield cells and stuff..

No comment on ship balance

Bigger ships are now faster in super cruise due to the FSD DRIVE class but they are slower in normal speed than small ships.

SuperCrusie is fine as is with regards to velocity and change in velocity being based on one's location relative to mass.
Want to out run someone you use the gravity wells

-Tweaking (overclocking?) your ship! Now you can be like Han solo and Chewbacca and modify your ship modules!!, maybe you need more speed? Well engines will be overheating and may be damaged at some point is up to you!

You can overclock a module in a station it gives you one stat at the cost of another one, for example you can overclock your engine to give about 10 more speed but it drains engine pips faster and over time can be damaged.
Sound like an idea

Shield cells now consume energy from shield pips, like chaffs and they have a cool-down, the better class the less cool-down and are limited to one module per ship.

They do need balancing, I thought they might just full the shield capacitor

-More Different modules and weapons including rare ones added and existing weapons rebalanced in terms of clip size to me all weapons viable in PVP and PVE.

Here is to the Over charged and low heat and such making an appearance again

BPCS ADDED!! : Now you can find BPCS of rare weapons and modules that are extremly RARE , like weapons based on alien technology or thrusters with some crazy and great modifications and you need to give them to a station in order to be built and pay whatever the station wants to ask you for ir.

What are BPCS?
Google comes up with Business Planning and Control System

Mining:

-Tractor beam for mining added! Forget about scoop all day long! If you can afford it of course!!
-Mine drones added! Now you can put your small drones to mine!
-The more away of the civilization you are mining the more expensive things you will get and more purity you will find.

Drones or tractor beams.
Magic tractor beams (the one often cited as a prototype today doesn't work in a vacuum) less preferable to drones
Pristine rings offering better bounties away from civilization are already a thing

Bounty Hunting:

Cmdr docking data in stations can be bought at galaxy map like Exploration or Trading data, so you can trace the TOP WANTED CMDRS.

-Add a new list on star port services, THE MOST WANTEDS, only CMDRS and you can list it from the most wanted to the less wanted and if you purchase the data you can see their last 5 docking and how many times they did in a small period of time also if they are online or not.

Exploration:

Exploration missions added!!: Now Factions will ask you for scout the enemy territory or find a specific system with a specific requirements, if you sell the data to them they will reward you accordingly and you will get reputation.

-USS and Resource extraction points tweaked, the more away you are from the civilization the more interesting and weird stuff you will find, like BPCS of rare modules or weapons.

-Increased the amount of money you can get by selling exploration data.

-Advanced discovery scanner now identifies everything on a system there is no need to point each celestial object to see what they are, if you want to get more money you need to approach and use surface scanner.

-Surface scanner now can scan Resource extraction points and belts and see what they have to offer, this data can be sold to a miner player for example.

Good ideas except for the ADS being a one button press wonder

Trading:

The more valuable is your cargo the more dangerous NPC will try to hunt you down, you may want to hire some friends to protect yourself and your goods!.

Piracy and Smuggling:

Pirate factions and reputations made relevant. Anarchy systems are now MUCH more dangerous, especially if you are not affiliated with the pirate faction controlling it.
Smuggling: Illegal black market goods are now worth 250% in large stations with security in which they are illegal.

Conflict Zones, war and flipping systems:

-Conflict zones reworked!:

Once a system gets in to a civil war Conflict zones will spawn, now they have a timer to be conquered(kill all npcs, or small structures or capital ships depending on low-med or high intensity zone) once this timer is over, another conflict zone will spawn the faction with more conflict zones conquered wins the war and gets the system.

-Conflict zones now give reputation and will help to get military ranks with the faction you choose and you loose it with the other faction.

-Reputation, and military ranks now give several benefits at different stations, like better prices, reputation items only sold at several stations or access to specific ships.

NAVAL RANKS AND MISSIONS REWORKED:

Naval ranks now grant military faction chat, so you can chat with all the CMDRS on the navy of the major faction your are enlisted.

Now the alliance has also ranks

IF you want to rank up you need to do specific naval missions in all three major factions.

To rank up your missions will be most of the time Combat based but can be based on exploration or even trading specific things throw enemy systems:

-Go to empire zone and investigate what is happening on the moon of x planet in x system, we think that they may be building a new type of ship there... you go there and you will find several security vessels of the enemy faction and your mission will update with fighting orders or just to come back with all the data.

Ranks are not easy to get and you will need several missions and the more rank you are the more difficult the mission will be to the point that maybe you need to group to finish a mission with other CMDRS in the NAVY.

NPC Re-balance:

Bigger ships like Anacondas, Pythons etc.. will be piloted only by experts pilots NPCS and above only.

The bigger NPC rating the more bounty or better cargo they carry, and harder they are to kill.

If a player is Expert or above chances to get more Expert and above enemies increase, this is made to allow progression and let the player feel that he is getting better as long as the enemy get better and they better the payments are.

Same comments fro your original thread.
Alliance Ranks should be something different.
No Global chat.
Aye to a variety of missions involving several steps
