Really?! This is game breaking and have been reported in beta multiple times!

"Weeks" just for hotfix updates on long reported bugs and mission problems that the devs caused themselves by exchanging proper unit testing tools and protocols for total reliance on useless beta test volunteers. Frontier never fail to impress. Swear to god they have no idea how lucky they are to have such a loyal fanbase and lack of competition, any other devs tried that (ones that aren't already universally hated at least) would be excoriated for this kind of flippancy with regard to their customer support and quality control.

Most studios, big or small, have hotfix patches ready to go within a few days of a big update at most. The timelines Frontier gives just for critical hotfixes are what others give for small to medium content and balance passes, and no, it has absolutely nothing to do with how "big" or "complex" Elite is.

Things like this are why people say the moderation here fosters such a toxic community. Don't do this, whether you acknowledge it or not you are responsible for setting the tone here, and it's why so many complaint threads, valid or not, get dogpiled with snarky insults imitating your derogatory style and disincentivises people from providing honest feedback about the game. You're not doing anyone any favours with this kind of behaviour, least of all the company you're volunteering to represent. Give it over, and this doesn't just go for you either, these attitudes always come from the top down.

It's really an honour to share this forum with people who are highly experienced at running major game studios, and who are willing to give free consultations to Frontier Developments.

Mr Braben, some good advice was given above - all you have to do to make Elite Dangerous a better game is to fix bugs within days or hours instead of weeks - simple!

This, but unironically. Did you miss the part where I said damn near every other game studio does exactly that? I'm not asking them to suddenly reinvent the games industry here, just conform to established standards they've been abusing their unique position to avoid.
Y'know when I said loyal fanbase I didn't mean this loyal. Do you throw your jacket down on puddles in front of Mr Braben's path or do you just dive in front of him yourself?
