Recommend Me An Android Game

Not candy crush, or any of those other crappy games, or the ones you have to wait 20 minutes to perform an action, or pay real money...
But an actual game. Lol

I've got XCOM Enemy Within, but it's very sluggish on my old Nexus 5 now (it never used to be, but I think my phone is dying. Lol)
I've also got Carmageddon, and OpenXcom.

But I'm looking for something new. Ideally free, but I have a load of Google credit I can use too.

Fire away!

Data Wing

Ditto this, no ads, very simple concept but with a good game built around, very good music.

Also if you want to try something a bit different from the usual Android concepts, take a look at Gladiabots. (last time I checked, it was a game prototype also available for pc)

I just tried plague inc. quite fun. Bored of it now though. Lol

I'll look in to data wing.

I have the original tomb raider somewhere. But it's a bit impossible on a touch screen. :D

Small General: Eastern Front. Nice little old-school hex wargame on the german-soviet border from '41 to '45. 4 short scenarios and the main one covering the full campaign. Hexes, CRT, supply lines, reinforcements, seasonal weather, asymmetric forces, various AI levels... It packs a surprising lot for such a form factor. There's a free demo of the earlier (and lesser) cold-war themed game Small General so you can try it out and see if that's your kind of game.

One of the benefits of being retired and living on a remote island where local landline numbers consist of 3 digits and are free to call....I haven't had cause to use my mobile phone in over 4 months, the last time was to place an order for winter fuel as the oil supplier is on the main island and non local.

It was last seen next to the charger in the kitchen :)

Heh, Data Wing is pretty cool.

Kinda reminds me of Astroids.
And the dialogue is funny. :)

That'll keep me entertained for a while.

I was playing Sky Force 2014 a while back. Quite an addictive top down shooter, which reminded me of old mega drive games. It gets incredibly difficult towards the end, but each level also has quite a few challenges that makes it more replayable.
Sky Force Reloaded is available too, but it's kinda laggy on my old phone. Not something you want in a reflex based shooter. Lol

Angry Birds.
Angry Birds Space.

They're really good, you have to watch a few ads every now and then (unless you turn your wifi/4G off) and you can always find a level to challenge you.

Apart from that, there are lots of emulators - SNES9xGX, ePSXe, JohnGBA, Mupen64, Hataroid, etc. You will, of course, have to provide the ROMs/disk images yourself from your collection. I like playing Oids when I have time to kill on the train, etc.

I love Angry Birds. But I played them to death. Lol

I've got a Mega Drive emulator, and about 1000 ROMs on my Google drive. Lol
But I need a very mini gamepad to play them on, because my fingers take up too much of the screen. Lol (big hands!)

I've also got OpenTTD. That's fun. A little hard to use on a phone, but I always love playing it. Too good at it now though. I doesn't take long to be rolling in money and destroy my competitors. Lol
