Red Deer Talk

Personally i love the new specie, the red deer was a good choice
The first thing when I woke up and saw the twitter post I thought that it was the wapiti/elk but was the red deer hahahaha, however, I was so surprising and happy

Personally i was hoping for the American flamingo ( because this Species Its practically the only species of flamingo in captivity in Mexico zoos) or the dromedary camel

Also the first thing that I did was play and watch with my own eyes how good was the Red Deer and it is super god, it's very different to the Fallow Deer in sizes and colors obviously, absolutely I love it and if the Fallow Deer was my in my top 5 of all the game the red deer will be there sure

or the dromedary camel
I'm actually a little surprised it wasn't the dromedary. Highly-requested, often talked about, and probably easier than the red deer to make (or at least as easy), with the same things going for it (plenty of scenery to represent it already in the game). That said, I have speculated in the past that Frontier wouldn't give us a dromedary for free, since it's an easy animal I think they know the board will be willing to pay for (whereas the red deer, less so).

I also allready thought about that and i am quite sure that the driving factorvfor the drcision was that the dromedary can easily be put into a desert pack and thrive, while the red deer kind of missed its shot.

What desert pack, though? If we're hypothesising random packs, then there is just as much opportunity for the red deer as a DLC animal. "Forest Pack", "Woodland Pack", some arguments have been made that it could even fit in a "Highland Pack".

While true, im the guy operating the temperate woodlands thread afterall, theres a big difference between them.
The dromedary is quite unique and would be without a doubt a staple and propaply headliner in such a pack, meanwhile the red deer faces a ton of competition, most notably the white tailed, pudu, pieresdavid and muntjac.
All of them fit into that spot and all of them would bring something over the red deer to the game: a deer not from europe.
So while the dromedary is basicly an auto include for a desert pack the red deer really is not one for a forest pack.

Also: I'd love all the deer please. Keep them coming.
Sika Deer please so I can keep Japans only native Deer Species in my Zoo there🙃🗾 (the native Species Area feels a bit weird without Deer)
But I agree that they should prioritize Pere Davids Deer and some Species of Muntjac at this Point.
I'd also like a Species of Wapiti and the Hog Deer (such a adorable smol Boi🙃) but the White Tailed Deer would also be great.
So yes, I agree. We need all of them 🙃

I know it's great but no Need to exaggerate that much😆🙃

Deer I'd like...

Wapiti because they are huge and classic NA deer.
White tailed deer because they are found in North, Central, and South America and even some Caribbean islands.
Marsh deer and Pudu for a tall and tiny non-tropical South American deer, and we've got way too few animals from that part of the world.
Sika deer for Japan and East Asia.
Axis deer for India.
Sambar deer for India and Southeast Asia.
Musk deer for North and Central Asia. And they have fangs.
And Pere David deer because they are extinct in the wild and have weird branch like antlers.
And Muntjac because they look pretty and they bark.

👍
Didn't even know that Muntjacs bark. Need to search that on YouTube. 🤔 Probably sounds similar to when Roedeer are doing it.

Not actually a Deer by the Way. They are way closer related to Cattle, Sheep and Antelopes

Can the Deer in the Game even make those Sounds?

Red deer don't make the same high pitched bugle as wapiti/American elk do, their calls are much deeper (and often just referred to as roars).

Male European red deer have a distinctive roar during the rut, which is an adaptation to forested environments, in contrast to male American elk stags which "bugle" during the rut in adaptation to open environments. The male deer roars to keep his harem of females together.

Pretty sure though at least the Reindeer should be capable of producing similar Sounds

Edit: can't find any Footage of Reindeer doing it so maybe just a Missconception due to some Piece of Media? Afterall it's for some Reason also popular to use the Sounds of the Red Tailed Hawk for Eagles in Movies🤔

Can only find Footage of Reindeer doing this Sound and strangely Footage of a Wapiti that is misslabeled as a Reindeer (blind People?🤔)

New Question: do the Reindeer in the Game even make any Sounds? Can't remember ever hearing them making Sounds in the Game.

The Knowledge that only Wapitis make those awesome Sounds makes me want them even more.
Of course I know what a Red Deer sounds like. Just thought that other Deer are capable of producing those Sounds too because someone must've missused it for Reindeer somewhere

Deer I want still:

Musk Deer (I know it's technically not a deer)
Muntjac
Pere Davids Deer

After that, I'm set. Would it be cool having another NA or a first SA Deer? Sure, but I don't need it necessarily.
