RedPandaReggie's Ideal Slate for 2024 and potentially 2025

I did one of these many months ago, and since I have had a think about a potential alternative slate for 2024 and beyond, depending on what happens.

Spring 2024: Coastal Pack

Travel along the coasts of our planet to observe curious coastal species of varying shapes and sizes. Here on this Arctic beach we can see a huddle of Walrus as they recover from foraging. Paddling over the kelp forests of Northern California we can see a raft of Sea Otters as they utilise the kelp as a home. Up above there is a flock of Brown Pelicans as they fly out to see to hunt for shoals of fish. In the seagrass meadows of Florida there is a large pod of West Indian Manatees as they graze in peace. Look over there on the mudflats on the edge of that mangrove forest, there is a colony of Atlantic Mudskippers as they search for tasty crabs and our first fish.

Build with over 200+ building pieces inspired by marine centres and Hawaiian culture, with many Cemrock pieces, as well as faux sea stars, barnacles, oysters, urchins, anemones, clams, as well as driftwood. Some new foliage will include the Giant Kelp, the world's largest algae, and the wavy Neptune Grass, and on the shores there is also Canary Island Pines, Pacific Madrone trees and California Fan Palms. Utilise the new marine netting barrier comprised of recycled rope, buoys and sinkers to help contain aquatic species in a coastal setting.

This time, assist Bernie Goodwin in conserving coastal species and their environment for future generations on the Californian coastline.

Update 1.17 includes new staff vehicles like carts and trucks, for the guests there are new buses, trams, carts, bikes, segways, a new gondola variant and a new safari truck variant. There is also a new underwater tunnel that functions very similar to the viewing domes, these tunnels could also be used outdoors too. Revised Tasmanian Devil audio. Sloth Bears and Aardvarks can now use the natural termite mound. Updated conservation statuses. Renaming of some species. As well as fully aquatic swimming for manatees, and a new habitat gate with a platform connected staircase, set to the top of the habitat barrier of a completely water filled habitat. Perhaps even aquatic staff members that jump into the water to access the habitat items. Makes the male California Sea Lion larger. Give Caracal a longer tail and better sexual dimorphism between the male and female, with the male having longer ear tufts.

Summer 2024: Latin America Animal Pack

Explore the many environments of Central and South America from the rainforests, to the grasslands. Look over there, snuffling through the leaf litter is the curious South American Coatimundi as it searches for insects and fallen fruit. Did you hear that mighty roar, and a disturbance in the canopy, oh look! A troop of Black-and-Gold Howler Monkeys the loudest of all primates with a call that carries several kilometres. There is a curious chirping sound, and look, a clan of Geoffroy's Spider Monkeys as they use their tail like a fifth limb to brachiate through the treetops. Do you feel like we're being watched, oh, it is the elusive Ocelot, one of the jungles most versatile hunters. Look up on that tree, there is a Southern Tamandua digging out a termite mound built into the tree. As we move out onto the Cerrado, out running on the horizon there is a flock of Greater Rheas as they search for new food. I thought I just heard a dog, and I most certainly did, over down near the river is a pack of the rare Bush Dog as they search for their next meal. There is some splashing at the river, and look, it is a beautiful Plumed Basilisk as it runs across the surface of the water.

Spring 2025: Threatened Species Animal Pack

Many species across the planet are under threat whether they be animal or plant, several are either endangered or above. Conservation efforts on the Indonesian island of Sumatra are working to protect the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, the smallest rhino in the world. In the highlands of Central Europe, the Northern Bald Ibis is being reintroduced after a 400-year absence. Due to deforestation on the island of Papua New Guinea, species like the Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo are threatened with extinction, with many efforts across the world breeding this species. On Madagascar, the critically endangered Coquerel's Sifaka is threatened by very similar threats. The Pere David's Deer is one of the only mammals that are extinct in the wild currently, with reintroduction efforts occurring in Southern China. Due to crossbreeding with the American Crocodile, the threatened Cuban Crocodile is at risk of being bred out of existence. In Southern Asia, hunting and habitat loss have threatened the Fishing Cat population, with threats to wetlands and fish populations being a primary factor. In captivity, the breeding of the Panamanian Golden Frog is essential for the species' survival, with a population that exists only in captivity due to an aquatic fungal pathogen.
1704603998411.png

Bernie Goodwin has always strived to protect threatened species, and he is building a conservancy in Indonesia to work with the critically endangered Sumatran Rhinoceros, and working to educate one of the most populous countries about the endangered species from around the world and local. A snarling sound follows us on the way towards the grasslands of India, come to find out, the tough Honey Badger has been following our trail through their extensive distribution. Out on the plain, a herd of Blackbuck grazes. We then cross the sea and reach the grasslands of Patagonia, where we find the quirky Patagonian Mara as it chews on soft grass. In the forests of nearby Japan, the Tanuki searches for food. Back in the forests of South-eastern China, a Reeves's Muntjac grazes. A Short-Beaked Echidna forages of ants and termites in the eucalyptus forests of Australia. In North America, the gobble-gobble of the Wild Turkey fills the air around this clearing. On the forest floor nearby, a Snowshoe Hare feeds on the clovers. Prowling through the bushes nearby, a Bobcat lurks. In the undergrowth, a Common Box Turtle shelters in the leaf litter.

Not really a fan of the forest pack, but would still buy it, the petting zoo I would skip, the rest I would insta-buy. Also would put the nile crocodile as free gift instead of african leopard and add generuk in the safari one instead

White-tailed Deer = Muntjac

What software do you use to make these pictures? And I think based on the current engine of PZ, if the Manatee is truly offered it is better to be a WTE species.

I alternated the White-Tailed Deer for the Reeves's Muntjac as I agree it would be a more interesting deer species. What would the Gerenuk be replacing in the Safari DLC?

If we get this then the roster of this game Will be absolute perfection. It is highly unlikely though specially that aviary expansión with that many birds, it almost feels like a whole new game on it's own.

Also petting zoo pack would be better suited as a scenery DLC imo. We could get backstage and stables building pieces to make it more

The shoebill.

Yeah i know i know is a cool looking bird and for some reason one of the most voted animals in the metawishlist but if the less useful of all the animals in that pack.

Secretary bird is higher in the MTW and i prefer it over the shoebill. Is also more common in captivity for those that care about that and is more a savannah animal where the shoebill is not something i think of when i think safari.

Mara fleshes out Patagonia and temperate SouthAmerica. Also one of my most wanted animals. Can be mixed for a variety of species, works great for walkthrough habitats, petting zoo and as a free roaming animal. Is very, very common in zoos down here.

Blackbuck is the most wanted ungulate from India. It works for mixed exhibits, expands on the Indian grasslands roster and is also very common in captivity.

Nile croc adds a croc from África finally and the most famous and common at that. It is found all through out África and Madagascar, in Wetlands and savanahs.

The honey badger would add yet another mid size carnivore that is neither a cat nor dog and has an extensive range that covers India and the Middle Easy as well, two áreas that need more species. It is also very recognizable for the general audience because of all the memes.

And the baboon... Well is a baboon. And the one most people want to see. It also adds to Middle East roster and gives a new type of primate. It is as well the most flashy species of baboon.

So yeah the shoebill loses in all fronts. But i have to say is as niche as the gerenuk, although the latter has the versability and mix species value going for it over the shoebill.

Well I have shrunk the Aviary DLC's roster, to at least one species for each group

For my opinion, I gonna replace the Nile Cro, b/c this is just cloning species of Saltwater Crocodile, so can be easily done by the Modders

Now that you mention that, that safari pack has a lot of new rigs (secretary, shoebill, mara). Not impossible but would be rare. Point is they usually use a bunch of clones to fill out the pack: Nile croc from saltie, honey badger from Wolverine, blackbuck from gazelles, i guess baboon from mandril although in this case is the model and textures that would require a lot of work.

Well on the subject of the Baboon, if this pack were to come after Alpine, then the baboon could just use the Gelada's rig

with these dlc the game would go near perfection for me.

Still missing only few animals I really want, the Leopard Seal, Aye-Aye, Nilgai, Giant Squirrel, Di-Dik, Giant Eland, Lyrebird, Roadrunner, Alligator Snapping Turtle, Victoria Crowned Pigeob, and Giant Armadillo

I would use the giant armadillo before the bushdog, but I understand the hushdog is more popular

I would switch the forest turtle for a mantis species, we don’t have a mantis yet and plenty turtles

Well I have included the Roadrunner and Victoria Crowned Pigeon in the aviary DLC's selection. We only have one turtle too, and 3 tortoises

Would you like to elaborate please?
Saying your high on copium is internet slang for hoping for way to much when reality says no.
Allmost every proposed update had the content frontier puts in 3-4 updates, not to mention the free aniversary update animal pack.
Na bias should be obvious with 2,5 na packs in the coastal, the northwest pack and the fact that somehow 5 out of 8 animals in the forest animal pack are from Na.
Lets just say it makes it quite obvious where your from

I'm not American, also the forest animal pack only has 4 North American species, the Bobcat, Common Box Turtle, Wild Turkey and the Snowshoe Hare. The Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, Tanuki and Reeves's Muntjac are from Asia, and the Short-Beaked Echidna is from Oceania. I may ask a lot in these updates, but with the petting zoo update, all those animals would utilise recycled rigs, the sheep and goats, the cattle, the pony, the chicken, the pig, and the guinea pig would be an open air exhibit animal, with the rabbit adopting the animations of the Snowshoe Hare from the Forest DLC. The Pacific Northwest Pack exists because there are some good animals from the region, and to welcome Native American scenery into the game, as I see that as one of the only major cultures that has not seen a lot of representation in the scenery sets in the game. The Sea Otter, Walrus, Brown Pelican and West Indian Manatee are just cool species I would like to see, and a Coastal Pack is perfect to add them. I could slim down the updates features to comprise of one major feature, and then a few small ones on the side.

Here's an alternative version for the Pacific Northwest Pack idea

Introducing the adaptable American Black Bear, the iconic Elk, the magnificent Mountain Goat, the hulking Northern Elephant Seal and the brilliant Pileated Woodpecker. Alongside Native American scenery of the region.
