Regarding the California Nebula Elections

As the elections cycles go on in the California Sector, many independent CMDRs are heading out to the Nebula to support their candidates of choice in the potential landgrab by the Kumo Crew Syndicate -- be they supporting Archon Delaine, or defending the alliance in the nebula from his influence as it poses a serious threat to the ongoing coexistence project in the region between Humanity and the Thargoids in the sector, which has been ongoing for several years and recognized not only by those in the area, but also by the galactic presence of the Anti-Xeno Initiative and several other organizations.

Sadly, myself and members of my organization -- YKE Technologies -- as well as several of our coalition allies and members we've had contact with of other independent groups have felt serious discontent with the ways in which we can show our support for Turner and fight back against the influence of the Kumo Crew Syndicate. Our belief is that Archon Delaine poses a serious threat -- not just to the ongoing and successful coexistence project in the California Nebula region, but also of escalating the Second Thargoid War to a point potentially beyond any repair. This is a terrifying prospect for us, as you can imagine -- many of us currently live peacefully alongside the Thargoids outside the Bubble, interacting in ways previously unprecedented and learning things about them, their behaviours, their technology and their culture that were otherwise impossible to know.

The problem exists now that the only way in which we can protect the California Nebula from the influence of the Kumo Crew Syndicate is by violently fighting against System Authorities, as well as pilots aligned to Archon Delaine including other CMDRs. Many of us feel severely discontent with this, as not all of us -- or even most of us -- feel the pull to take such violent actions, especially against other CMDRs, nor to paint a target on the backs of ourselves as individuals or our respective organizations. I'd like to formally request for the Pilot's Federation to incentivize factions near or within the California Nebula, or potentially open a public goal for CMDRs, to provide other means of influencing the election cycles in the region for their respective sides and against the alternative without taking violent action. Much can be achieved through trade and data couriering in this troubling time.

Regards,
CMDR Ilionikoi, YKE Technologies

To put this simply, in an out-of-character sense, the situation in the California Nebula has developed into something sincerely pressing for many player groups. However, due to what many perceive as a lack of attention or in-depth analysis by Frontier Developments regarding the region for years, the California Nebula is currently only populated by two NPC factions -- and a complete lack of mission variety. Currently, as things stand, there only exist donation and passenger missions in the area, and the only ways outside of that to influence the current election cycles are through what basically amounts to stochastic terrorism in-game. Obviously, this isn't something that most players really want to do -- but the passenger missions and donations hardly give much of a choice, especially as one of the stations in question is on a planetary body with upwards of 2G, making landing safely and succeeding in passenger missions... excessively difficult to say the least.
Seeing as, narratively and in the minds of many Xeno Peace Advocates like myself, the current election cycles in the California Nebula could potentially be (and maybe even are) incredibly important, especially in regards to the Second Thargoid War narrative going forward -- and seeing as the California Nebula has been an agreed upon no-fire zone with Thargoids even recognized by the likes of AXI going back upwards of half a decade -- it should be equally important for the Elite Dangerous team to implement, as soon as possible, other means of influencing the elections within the region, be that through additional mission variety (such as trade, mining and data courier missions), or through a Community Goal.
Things here will, inevitably, reach their conclusion the way the players who deem it important wish them to do so -- however, it feels incredibly frustrating and imperative that other methods of reaching that conclusion should be available.
Thanks for your time.

We don't care about Kumo Council and California Nebula.. both can just burn and disappear as they are totally unrelevant for Archon Delaine powerplay.

Okay? Good for you? I don't think I asked you, and I don't think you're part of this discussion if you personally don't care -- why butt in exactly? lol

I also don't think you speak for the entire playerbase on a personal level-- maybe you think your personal opinion overrides the opinions of player groups going back half a decade and trying to get things moving in the region, but I digress. If you don't personally care, there's no need for you to be in this thread.

You mentioned KUMO, well I'm am KUMO and "you're nobody" (as Archon says LOL).

I'm just overriding the FDEV's narrative as they're still pretending we (KUMO) do care about their mistakes.

It's an election-type conflict in those systems, so combat-type actions have no direct effect on the result, whereas non-combat actions do. Trade and missions and (where available) exploration data sales will already win the elections for you (or not, depending on the opposition)

That's not to say that there won't occasionally be a need to shoot down Kumo Council ships (System Authority or otherwise) in the course of carrying out the non-combat actions, and of course shooting down a Kumo-supporting player may sometimes prevent them from carrying out whatever election support they were planning, but it won't directly affect the result and it should be perfectly possible to win an election without firing a shot.

Don't get out of your nebula much do you, you replied to KUMO Crew 🤣

They are clearly telling you, and you can verify this elsewhere, the player side of KUMO has no desire to support this at all.
