Two thoughts -
1. Could my problem with the EliteOCR link be to do with the fact that I have side monitors with different resolution to my main ?
2. Is there any debug window that you could apply that might help to identify the issue ?
If I can do anything at all to help then please let me know. I can PM you with any of my PC configuration that you might want.

If you click the Debug button you'll get a Window with the VBS code lines.
The one causing the error will be yellow.

If you copy that hole section, paste it here and color that highlighted line,
it would probably help Eventure identify the problem much faster !

Now that you've explained it, it makes perfect sense !
I would not change it, TRADE ADVISOR already tells us what can be sold at a profit !
It is actually a useful extra information when you understand what it means !!!

Another info for Yokai's Guide :)
I haven't seen any post by him for a while !
Is he still around ???

Are you displaying ED on all monitors ?
I only have 1 side monitor using a lower rez then my main,
but I only use my main for ED and TCE's main panels like the MAIN MENU and POSITION/DESTINATION
I use the side monitor for web browser and some of TCE's panels that I leave on all the time,
like the LogBook and STAR SYSTEM SUMMARY.

If ED is spread over many monitors with different Rez,
I would not be surprised if EliteOcr had problems recognizing what it is supposed to scan.

If you run EliteOcr by itself on this same setup, does it work properly ???

Just wanted to say that this tool is so fantastic I have reset my save, just so I can start from the beginning using it.

I love the way that it allows me to collect data and slowly build up a workable database - added a whole new layer for me.

Thanks for the great work!

Please update your Office to the lastest service pack and install the Access runtine for your version.

Yes, that could be the reason (1) for your issue. Did you using DisplayFusion?

Only using ED on main monitor. I have TCE on side monitor as I prefer to not clutter the main screen.
Definitely not spreading ED around monitors though
EliteOCR on its own works fine.

No - I just et it up in Windows as normal through Display Properties

Okay, perhaps i found a solution, but i cant test it. You have to try it. Here a modified update of TCE for testing purpose. Test-Version only

You said, TCE is running on your side. The Main panels (Position/Destination Displays with compact UI or the Main Menu with classic UI) too?

You might want to try to put the Main Panel and/or the POSITION/DESTINATION panel on your main screen for a test !!!
I would try both first since it works that way for me then, if it work try moving one then the other one off to see if only one is needed.

I need another input here for the Personal Shiplog Addon. I finished mainly the bookmark system and now i come the the last sections (Activities and Contacts). What categories it should hold and what infos of the categories should be recorded?

I have so far:

Seems pretty complete to me !
and anything I might find unnecessary will probably be THE most useful feature for somebody else !
I would not remove anything unless it causes major problems or overcrowds the UI.
The hard part is going to be to fit all of this in the menu while still keeping it simple, presentable and user friendly !!!

Thank you so much - I will test that right now.
I have all TCE panels running on the side monitor normally.

Another bug with V1.39a and the v1.39b trial you sent me.


When I open PANEL POSITION and then close it,
whether I make any changes or not,
TCE "freezes"
there is no error message,
but when I try to do anything I only get the boing sound
(I'll call it the Error sound from now on lol)
the only way to get it working again is to kill TCE completely with windows task manager and restart it !

I did my homework this time !

Restarted the computer and made a brand new TCE folder

Tested TCE_V1.39_non-installer, no problem.
added TCE_V1.39a_update, PANEL POSITION "freezes" TCE
added TCE_V1.39b_trial and ran the new TCE Setup.xlsm, PANEL POSITION "freezes" TCE
overwrote TCE Setup.xlsm and TCE.xlsm with the ones from TCE_V1.39_non-installer and everyting is fine again !


by the way, doing all of this made me realize that it would be very nice to have a
Classic/Compact selection box in the panel when we run TCE Setup.xlsm

and

You've changed some of the Tooltips to make them shorter,
but now they do not match the panel labels in PANEL CONTROL or PANEL POSITION

I use them mainly to be more accurate when I write post here,
so that we can understand each other better by using the same terms.
If you use different names for the same panels at different location,
I'll do my best to be accurate, but it might become confusing in the long run :)

Hi

The only panel that I normally have on my main screen is the commodities screen which uses EliteOCR.
I have tried having that panel on my side monitor too and it doesn't seem to make a difference

I have tried the new test version you made and unfortunately, the link between TCE and EliteOCR still suffers from the same roblem with my setup.

May I just say that 1.39b is a lot more stable as far as "freezing" issues go - awesome job.

Another try: please move the Main panel to your primary monitor if you didnt do this before and try both versions (a and b).

I always wonder why Frontier never stop this development of user made tools that change the way the game

is designed to play ... lol. Never know why they don't respect their own design? Beats me.

If there is one tool out there that does not change the way the game is designed to play, it is this one !!!

Maybe you should actually check it out before passing judgement !

Unlike many other tools out there, there is no shared data here,
it is all the same as taking notes with pen and paper, just quicker.
And it feels much more immersive then pen and paper or notepad ever would !
