Hello,

First off, great work Eventure! I appreciate your effort at making this a better game.

I have TCE 1.39f up and running with no errors and everything is working as intended with no errors. I read the guide by Yokai and that helped a lot.

I do have a question for everyone regarding the manual entry of the stock values. I understand that the entered values are automatically multiplied by 1000 but I still can't get the correct value in. I've been rounding to the nearest thousand, so if I enter 1 I get 1000, if I enter 16 I get 16,000 and if I enter 3200 I get 3,200,000. I can't enter an exact value such as 3,426 and comma's and periods don't seem to be recognized or at least not do anything. If I enter 3,4 I get 34,000 and if I enter 3.4 I get 34,000 The commas and periods don't show up when I enter them.

Any ideas?

Yes, it is a bug, that you can't use a comma or a periods in case of Stock values. Thanks for reporting. Will be fixed in next release.

You can change them at the Star System Database panel, click on the names to open the drop-down for each star.

Yes, but that has to be done every-time,
I was looking for a way to change them "permanently"
and still be able to use the paste function.

That has to do with your distance from the stars, e.g. if you are 100 LY away from two ref. stars, these stars should have a min. distance of 50 LY. But its only a guess.

I am 350ly away from sol at the moment and there is now less then 12 ly difference between the first 3 and 50 ly to Loga !

I started asking these questions because TCE's CARTOGRAPHY used to sort the stars in the same order, by distance, as the left navigation panel.

Which is VERY practical for exploration by the way !!! :)

But, a little while ago, it started mixing them up and showing different distances from my current position, to surrounding systems, then ED does.
When looking at the Galaxy Map coordinates. TCE's calculated coordinates use to match pretty well too, but again, they are starting to diverge more and more.

This has the advantage to spread the ref. star mostly wide, but has the disadvantage to enter columns of numbers for each star.

Sorry, From your response,
either I you did not quite understand my meaning,
or I do not quite understand yours lol

The columns of numbers are already in the db !

Here is a small extract from the Stars table in my db :
IDStar Name:X-Coordinates:Y-Coordinates:Z-Coordinates:SOK:Note:
118 SCORPII-3.53121.65639.655

2ROSS 249-48.781-11.625-20.562

3LHS 112-32.156-20-15.344

4LHS 6427-33.25-19.781-9.53

5TENG YEH6.28128.438-12.469

6SAN TU24.96836.811-8.78

7DELTA PAVONIS8.375-10.84314.469

8G 190-28-44-15.656-13.312

9HYROKS-28.561-2.0938.5

10SKOLLUNG-61.156-22.438-4.687

11LHS 135-27.188-23.093-20.25

12CAUCAN-27.3112.57.562

13ZEESSZE-19.811-3.25-14.28

14DALA124.69925.9-22.099

If this was my complete db,
TCE could automatically copy and paste the names of these 4 stars as reference,

#1 : SOL 0 : 0 : 0
#2 : Biggest X = SKOLLUNG -61.156 -22.438 -4.687
#3 : Biggest Y = SAN TU 24.968 36.811 -8.78
#4 : Biggest Z = 18 SCORPII -3.531 21.656 39.655

The same way it paste Sol, Wyrd, Vega and Loga right now,
so it would, with this modification, then paste Sol, Skollung, San Tu and 18 ScorpII

Should work fine, as long as you include a line of codes that prevents using the same system twice ! Or the system you are in when you Modify one !!

As far as my limited understanding of your code goes, you would not have to change much.
You can include the same basic, almost empty, startup database.
Instead of statically pasting the same 4 stars as it does now,
TCE would paste Sol and the other 3 stars selected, in this way, from the db.

P.s.: I am not trying to pressure you in to this !
Just trying to making sure that you really understood what I meant.

I presume you meant TCE.mdb_clear (not _clean) in the DB folder. TCE started fine with TCE.mdb_clear.

My current TCE.mdb is attached.

Forgot to say Win 7 is 64-bit if it makes any difference.

Rob

Eventure, did you see my reply from early yesterday? My DB is attached to my original post early yesterday as it doesn't seem to carry forward with the quote. Is there an error in my DB?

Thanks, Rob

Sent you a PM yesterday.

Thanks !

No rush thought, I'm managing, using note pad on my second screen and these coordinates :
Sol
S171 33 -2426.75 295.656 -1323.656
CSI-21-22270 -224.561 -587.75 306.812
M7 SECTOR ZE-Y B1-4 21.438 -130.468 784.53

They are not the furthest apart I could use but they are the closest to that with easy access in the drop-down menu.

It's a lot more clicks then TCE's native copy and paste, but it works !
Using these, the TCE'S calculated coordinates fit much better with the ones from ED's galaxy map. :)

Thanks !

Autoselected reference star systems will be included in the next content update.

Eventure,

Trying to add a new ware using the Database, Wares, Add Commodity Record, but I am getting the following error:
View attachment 34654

I have added Salvage items before, but not sure if it is me this time or a bug that has crept in with the latest version.

Thanks for all your efforts.

Cant read your attachment, but i think it has to do with a number format error. Thanks for finding and will be fixed in next release.

Salvage items are not commodity goods. You will get salvage items with the next content release (Personal Logbook). Commodity goods are only those goods, you can buy at a station. Rares comes with the new content, so rares are special goods and also not added the list of commodity goods.

Yes, appears to be a format error - message states 'Unable to set the NumberFormat property of the Range class.'.

Although not commodity goods, I have created a Salvage group within the commodity goods and record those I find within it (with the price info at the black market).

Thanks again.

I hope you know, what you doing in case of editing the database directly. This can produce a total loss of you database and manually edits at this level is not supported by me or TCE. Make a backup before changing it.

Just updated to 1.39f from 1.39a. All was working well, but I've had a couple issues pop up on occasion that I couldn't repeat.

This one, however, comes back each time.

Trying to add the station Steiner Dock at Awarilo results in: "3265: Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal."

It has to do with your database. If you could upload it, i will check it. Did you add a new station or registering an unregistered station?

@Eventure
Hi
I have just upgraded to f from c after doing a load of testing on different monitor configurations.
I suddenly get "Error 6 Overflow" every time I run TCE.
Any idea what could be causing this ?
Do you need me to upload my DB ?
Cheers,
Ben

Update - version c still works OK but f triggers the error
