Abandoned [RELEASE] Trade Computer Extension

Yes.

This way, it comes up, I can read my note telling me how to approach the planet/starport or glance at anything else, then it would re-hide itself after a few seconds (10 seconds is probably too long). I hope that makes sense.

I got a +1 rep for this suggestion, so there is at least one other person that likes that idea :) .

Added the suggestion. It will hide after (intervall) seconds automatically, if not used (clicked on an arrow button). Intervall is your selected poll intervall for the position detection.
If you want to have it open all the time, deselect the checkbox at the Options panel.
Also, found the issue, that it dont automatically showed up on change star system. It affects only the Classic UI. Will be fix in next release.

Hopefully just a small problem.
I'm trying to run the main panel at the bottom of the screen 2560 x 1440. But the Control menu will only display the options choice and the Database menu will only show stations.
I think they are supposed to appear above the main panel and I think they did for a while. But when I was trying the different panels, classic, new and compact the drop down list now appears under the main panel in classic and new and will not go back above.
I am now unable to get to the panels menu to change it.

Select the Classic UI at the Options panel. Afterwards you select CONTROL > PANEL to open the Panel Position window. There you can select TOP or BOTTOM at the Main Menu line. Select bottom, that all drop down now go up. Edit the Y-Value, until its down at the bottom of your screen.

Hi,
I would like to start by thanking you Eventure for Trade Computer Extensions. This add on has reinvented Elite Dangerous for me, this actually makes me want to play, whereas before playing felt so thin and pointless really. Added a great dimension to the game which others have stated, should already be in ED already.

Got a little issue upgrading currently
Microsoft Office professional 2010 (all updates installed)
Win 7 Ultimate
Started using this from V1.40 and thought I would upgrade to the latest version to incorporate the latest trade items Osmium and Sap 8 Core Containers into my Commodities scans. I manually entered these into my TCE.mdb (as well as to the EliteOCR scan) as advised. So on a fresh install of V1.41 (before moving my .mdb and TCE.ini from old install), everything works a charm apart from all interaction with the TCE panel brings up the windows taskbar, that’s not a big issue for me.
My problems begins when moving my TCE, Personal, Panel, language and logbook databases to the new V1.41, DB folder, and the TCE.ini file to the TCE folder. As instructed here Compatibility note post #2812.
I have also checked through the DB’s for the correct entries as discussed here and all is as it should be.
The error occurs starting TCE, it’s an excel error!
Error in Startsequence Error Line: 220
Error(9) Subscript out of range
Clicking OK allows the TCE to run, but once clicking on Commodity I receive another error from excel
Error in Commodity panel
Error Line:10
Error (13) Type mismatch

If anyone has ideas I have triple checked everything to make sure things are as they should be so any pointers would be much appreciated, I was just beginning to reap the rewards of my meticulous labours ;)

The problem could be this statement: "I manually entered these into my TCE.mdb". You have to add them through TCE, because you are missing the reserved entries for the station prices. I suggest, that you upload your hole DB folder, so it can check it, where the problem is, or you take a backup, before you added the new commodities and add them through TCE Commodity Database panel.

The windows taskbar issue can be corrected in activating the old panel display mode at the Options panel of TCE.

I will try to work on a database transfer app for older versions over the weekend. It becomes more and more important, that we all having the same database structure, especially for the upcomming translation of TCE into german and french. That affects mainly the good and category table of the TCE.mdb.

Thank you for that. Now have the main panel at the bottom of the screen, but only the destination panel is not displaying correctly.
Any ideas?

Yes, its a bug, thanks for finding, because nobody else uses the bottom view of the main panel. Will be fixed in next release. Please use the top view or the Compact UI for the moment.

Much appreciated you getting back Eventure,

This certainly has me stumped! I tried as you suggested to put them in initially via the commodity panel but Salvage was missing from the type, this is what prompted me to try adding them manually.

I have even compared the new DB’s created and my DB backups and the only obvious difference is naturally the information I have entered, before trying to upgrade.

Is it likely that I have corrupted it beyond recovery?

Though no, but let me check, please upload it.

Thank you again for all your hard work.
I did have the main panel at the top of the screen, but when in combat I like it out of the way. I know I could hide it, but would prefer to have it visible all the time. When at the bottom it fits in the cockpit nicely and does not hide anything.
Well if nobody else has it at the bottom of the screen, it's nice to be different.

Actually Eventure, I did try the 'bottom view'. I run at a weird resolution though because I use 3 screens. I run at 5760 x 1080.

What I noticed was that when I just used the Options/panel/size and location settings, I could get it where I wanted near the bottom. Unfortunately, when you click on the Control/Ship Logbook/Database/etc, the pop up menus come up BELOW the boxes, and so are hidden. Does that make sense? It seems correct behavior though, since by doing that, it still thinks it's near the top. Nothing wrong there with TCE.

However, when I tried the "right" way to put it at the bottom (selection 'Bottom' from Control/panels/view), the entire bar of boxes disappeared. I couldn't see anything. I had to exit ED and change my resolution to 1920x1080 to find it and change the option back.

Wherever it tries to locate itself when you select 'bottom' view, it doesn't work at my resolution. Like you said, I suppose not many try that, and not many use 3 screens. I don't know that it's worth your time to try and resolve.

Having a similar behavior, but could reach the panel window. I modified some routines, so that all changes made (top/bottom for Classic UI, left/right for Compact UI) resets x/y setting to zero. It displays always at the top, left corner.

I have just altered the position of my panels a little and now whenever I alter or enter information in the TCE my taskbar at the bottom of the screen jumps into view. It is really very annoying :)

Here is a feature proposal: I would like to be able to toggle the position/destination window in compact mode. I am able to do it via hide/show button in the panal positions window but every time i toogle the ui on/off it comes back on. I think it would be a really nice addition for people who only like to use the Logbook and even traders do not trade all they time *or maybe the do?*
I do like the suggestion of the autohide of the starsystem summary window!

Waiting to test the next release!

So long...:)

Edit: Is it safe to set the y-value to lets say -200 to make it disapear?

Update to V1.42 Beta 2 and it will be saved. Supply is entered in thousands, so if you want to enter like 477 or 2466444 Units, you type 0,477 or 2466,444.

What is the screenshot about, any error you getting at the marked codeline?

The Question: Can I retrieve/recover/resynch my data?

To explain: After using TCE for a while, I chose to fill in "ShipLogBook > Personal Stats > New Commander". When I hit "Save Commander" TCE froze. After waiting a considerable time (just in case it unlocked) I had to "Task Mgr > End Task". On restarting the program, all my data was 'lost'. To be specific, it does not come up on any TCE panel but appears to still be in the database: TCE.mdb. So back to my question, can I retrieve/recover/resynch my data before I cause irreversible loss by say, reinstalling.
BTW, I have searched this forum for clues, but did not see anything conclusive and specific to recovering data.

I could not get to the debug window that I know was there as it came up behind the frozen panel.
I am using TCE_v1.42beta2_update on top of TCE_v1.41_installer
Windows 8.1-64 with msOffice 2010 Excel and Access 32-bit

TCE is a great piece of work. You have worked hard to create TCE and get it out to us; That is apparent and I really do appreciate that. I don't mind some crashes and having to fiddle with new work, but to lose my data hurts.

Please advise about retrieving/recover/resynching my data and I promise I will do better be backing up the whole directory from now on.
Thanks
