Have tried repeatedly to get this to work and can't get anywhere. When I try to install it says it cannot find "prestart.bat". I went to the folder and manually ran prestart.bat as administrator. Excel starts but all I get is a screen that says "If TCE doesn't start macros are deactivated" then a screen pops up asking for the location of a log file. I have "Enable all macros" set in trust center.

Using Excel 2010.

Ok, finally got it to start. Is this supposed to show up in game or must you alt-tab out to use it? I was under the impression that it would show up while in game.

It is required to use borderless window mode display. You can change it at the Elite Dangerous Display Options menu.

Hi Eventure - I tried the tool when you first released it with my copy of Excel 2013, but couldn't make it work. I came back now and it seems now it works on 2013? I tried it again today - and got a 1004 run-time error - 'Initialization of the data source failed'. I have scanned the hundreds of posts on this thread and have downloaded non installer version and replaced the copy of Config.mdb with the one from that package. I also opened all three data bases to remove any security restriction. I have also got the TCE folder as a trusted location in Excel Trust Center, enabled all macros and have manually installed the certificate. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for a great looking tool - I appreciate you are probably snowed-under with the amount of support you are having to do! That's the problem with Office/VB - so many versions.

Thanks for the info, did you use the 64bit version? I have to install excel 2013 to check your problem. You got feedback from me. BTW, is there a code line, where TCE got the error?

Beside all the support you deliver don't forget to play ;-)
Seems that you are more working on TCE rather than enjoying the game.
You should do this before i come with ideas like TCE input via voice instead of OCR. :))

LOL, yeah i didnt playing much atm, i am waiting on wings update and more content from FD. Till then, i try to make TCE run. It gained a good state in the last 2 weeks with the help of you all.

Hi Eventure,

TCR locked up on me and I got this VB error message: Runtime error "13" Type Mismatch. I was trying to select a destination and nothing was coming up. After a few clicks everything froze and would just beep when I would click anything. I had to alt-tab out and close it from excel.

Okay we'll keep you busy until march :)
As mentioned to improve the trade advisor i suggest some options could maybe be implemented.

First opt if TCE considers destinations twice.
So it doesn't play ping pong.

Second opt to plan a route with given/selected destinations or a route within a given range.

Third could be if outposts are viable destinations because of your ship you are actual flying (large landing pads)

With the first option on TCE should consider commodity prices in second and third rank.
Maybe additional max range and max destination settings will further improve the final outcome of the route.

I'm eager to know your plans about this feature :)

Adding stations without being at the exact destination makes no sense, because you need the description out if the log (xy near body 27 etc.) right?
I thought of typing my collection of excelsheets in the database but without the log entry TCE can't match the entries i suppose.

Please try to delete the "BackgroundQuery:=False" in the code line and try it again.

As i mentioned in post #348, the Trade Scout will be change in the future, but not now. The Trade Scout is only a bidirectional trade route finder atm. So ping-pong routes finding is his primary function. But thanks for your input.
With Outposts all of you can help me to gather the infos about number of pads and size like: Military Outpost (2x sml, 1 x med, 0x lrg). I will take that data into the database for better information. So let us find these data first. I didnt found a complete list of all station types and their pads.
No, you shouldnt add station directly into the database, because you need the Station commodity too (80 datasets into the StPrices Table), so i wont recommend it that way. But if you are using the Database panel of TCE, it should be possible. Add for the body number a standard value like "10". By the next stop, you can modify the body number to the correct value. Its shown into the ShipLog.

If you are using the ftp option. Do the others sharing the db actually have to press the download button first time they use it or do they just have to add in the info for the login etc and then it will work.

Important is, that all sharing the same data. So at the beginning, only one of the FTP users uploads his database, and all others downloads it. Thereafter all share the same basic database and all can now fill it with data to share it automatically. TCE generates a log file for up- and downloads. I dont know, how many users are possible for this feature, but i think more than 5 active users at the same time could make problems, but i dont know it for sure.

So, I have re-installed v1.30 with a fresh db.

No password issues.

I am getting run-time error 1004

Method 'OnTime' of object '_application' failed.


After leaving my second system, the panel stops recognising where I am, with the previous system shown after I have jumped.

Debug gives me...

You do not need to save the workbook. Restart and it should work again. The GetmyPosition is a macro, that checks every 15 seconds, if you change your position. This error come only, if you are previously in the debug mode too long (and got an error, that the code cant continue in hold mode) and thereafter clicking the EXIT button. The Application.OnTime nexttime, "GetMyPosition", , False code line is stopping the 15 sec. timer. But it cant be stopped on exit, because debug mode stopped it before.

I didnt know much about mySQL, so no, there is no planning. But the database side could be more up-to-date. My knowledge is very limited in this case, but help is welcome.
