Using windows 8.1, installed in correct folder - Error runtime 76 (excel 2007)

Looks good, but for me, no worky...

Having the same issue as a few other posters, in that I could not work out the install folder for a while... but got it in the end.

I have a win 7 machine upstairs which I will try also.

Open Office Guy here again. OO3.0 has limited VBA support, and IRL I do some VBA work when I'm not doing real database work. ;) I'll take a look at this and see if I can tweak it to run on OO. My hunch is it may not be terribly easy to do, but doable. Will report back as soon as I know more.

Do you work for microsoft ? Because it would have been easier to do it for openoffice since everyoine can get it for free :/

So strange how it installs so differently on different machines. My apologies.

Indeed, maybe its something to do with at what stage you started playing the game, pretty sure that was specified by the installer at gamma release i just changed the drive.

Still, im wondering if these error messages are related to the install location specified within the code of the trade extension?

TCE gets his installation folder and looks after the log folder of ED, thereafter D:\Elite Dangerous\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1001\Logs

I'm not going to use this (nor play at all until FD puts something as good as this into their game), but still :

Thank you soooo much for the work you put in this !

It's really nice to see people care so much for a game and giving something as awesome as this to the community.

May the juice be with you, at all times.

Search for EDLaunch.exe, that is the folder for the TCE installation. It habors the folder Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1001\Logs
TCE looks after a file called netlog*.log

Thanks for trying to help. I have it in that folder. No joy. That's ok. I don't think I'm up to big time data entry anyway. I was hoping it would see and save what I see on the screen.

Hi OP,

I'm unable to start the file. I'm using Excel 2013 with your 1.01 updated file on a Windows 7 PC. Excel is saying your digital signature is invalid, and if I enable all macro I get "Compile error in hidden module: SystemsWindowCap."

Please see link for screenshots. http://imgur.com/a/iM5zi

I'm also having trouble getting this to work but I've noticed my install directory doesn't look the same.

I reinstalled today so this should be the most up to date installation structure. Is this tool only compatible with earlier versions?

I'm getting the same error: Run-time error '76' Path not found

When I check the pathway for my installation folder, the directory shows: C:\Games\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1003\Logs

Could the path not found error come from my folder being called FORC-FDEV-D-1003 instead of FORC-FDEV-D-1001 as in your quote above?
If so is there any easy way to change the pathway to reflect how my installation folder is set-up?

BTW, this is exactly the type of program I've been looking for and really appreciate the effort put in to it.

  • Open the appconfig.xml file in the main folder of Elite Dangerous with Notepad.exe (e.g. “D:\Elite Dangerous\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1001\ AppConfig.xml”).

Man, I must be an idiot, I can't find this anywhere on my computer. And I know the path is different but my main folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\???

So far, no good. Will look into it more tomorrow.
One of the main reasons I gave up working in coding was finally deciding not to have to deal with VB, just was never worth the money. Mind you it might have improved since then (2005) You are a stronger man than I.
If you can get it working in OpenOffice/Libre Office, you are a true hero.
