As per the instructions, press enter after you have entered the 4th distance to get the save button to appear.
Clicking the status or the note box also works but with previous version I got a crash if I did it with the note box and not added at least one character in before clicking space.

Haven't been in a new sector since the update, so not tested with the new version yet.

I have and still need to fill at least 1 character in the notes box. Or else throw an error .... errr which I haven't captured :S

Next time, I am having fun atm. :)

Okay, my suggestion is to kick the Note and State of Exploration box off the Star System panel (less data = less errors). Afterwards these values can only be changed/edited through the Cartography panel.

What about my suggestion in adding a 'notes' field for stations instead? Oh, and somewhere you mentioned a 'delete' function for stations/systems.

Open the Options panel and in the top-right corner you will see the button.

What about my suggestion in adding a 'notes' field for stations instead? Oh, and somewhere you mentioned a 'delete' function for stations/systems.

The "Note" field and the delete function for stations will be included into the primary/secondary economy adjustment for trade stations. The delete function of star system will be included earlier, if add/modify will work finally without an error.

Yeah, and it could be a step towards Nikonthenet 's suggestion :

2. Local Data Popup - Any notes we store about a system, are displayed as a pop-up panel, when we arrive at that location. EG; the pop-up could remind us when we previously visited this system we were attacked, give their name, and anything else we included in the notes.

How do I add the new economies to my db. I tried the import feature but I just get duplicate entries with _1 added on the end.

You don't need to add them manually. When starting TCE, all versions are added to your database. The import button at the Options panel is for pre V1.36 databases only.

I haven't tried with the game yet as I've not been able too, I've just looked at the db file and opened up TCE without the game running so if an update happens only when I run the game then I'll try that latter.

Please close the db before starting TCE. Check the status of the economy table, when TCE finished starting process. This table will only be altered, when less than 65 entries present (V1.36 has 25 entries).

Thanks, yes I was being an idiot I extracted the files into a test folder but then started TCE by using my shortcut on the desktop which goes to the older version. D'oh

I've a few things to mention from using this and the beta from the last few days which I'll expand uppon later (30 mins sleep due to sick kid so brain no function).

When using trade scout and you find a route, if you're at the 2nd station already in the route and start trade route, it should detect this (if possible) and change accordingly or give the option to swap the stations around so the 2nd station is the first.

When using the auto trade function (which shows you the best station to go to next) it needs to follow the pad rules. I'm restricted to large pads and it kept throwing up outposts with no options to change.

Found a bug, that prevents detecting the first or second station as a start point for the trade route, when already there. Will be fixed in next beta update.

The Auto-detect Best Trade unfortunately has nothing to do with the Trade Scout panel. This will change with the new Ship Logbook, where you can select your craft, you are flying with. Until then you are bound to the Destination panel, there you can check the padsize of the station to trade with.

Just a couple of queries - now using TCE v1.37 beta 2 with ED v1.2.



  • I've just tried to add Painite as a new commodity but after completing the details in the 'Wares' dialog when trying to save TCE crashes with the message "Method 'value' of object 'range' failed". After clicking OK on the dialog Excel exits without giving the option to debug.

  • What is the new 'hotkey' for hiding TCE completely? After hiding it from the control menu I can't get TCE back without restarting it. I've looked in the instructions but can see no sign of what the key is.

OK - just starting with the new release.
I think I have spotted a couple of strange things which I will report when I can verify.
However, the main thing that I would like to say is "well done" - it looks really very good indeed !

Thanks for your support. Will looking into the issue. The new Hotkey can be selected through the Options panel with a click to the button in the mid, not in the Panel Control panel.
Found some unsorted goods or categories myself. Next beta will fix these things.
 
It seems that the OCR is reading Bauxite at a highly inflated price, but I assume that's an issue in EliteOCR rather than TCE

In fact, could this be being caused by the introduction of Painite ?
 
I have noticed the new "Salvage" trade category too. Am I harming my database by continuing before EliteOCR updates ?

Check all values of the scan before saving them. TCE reads only the goods, that are in the database. So i think the database will be fine.
