I just got it booting up in Excel 2013 (64 Bit) just needed to add an "PtrSafe", in Example "Private Declare PtrSafe FunctionNameHere". After few Edits of those lines it just asks for my logs Directory.
In the Launch Process i just get many of these Error Messages (sry in German, maybe someone knows what it means in english)
I'm getting many of those but after a while it reads out the logs and a can use it, but these Errors are coming all the time. There are still some Errors, but i am not a programmer/scripter so maybe someone else will find it out^^

To all users: Please give me feedback, if the versions of Excel 2007 - 2013 (32/64bit) are working with this beta. It has a different filename (TCE_beta.xlsm), so you dont overwrite anything.
No FAQ now, but it will come! If anyone has good questions, that have to be answered at a FAQ section, please PM me. Yours are noted already.
There are no effects on patches, but it has the same UI colors as ED default. TCE needs Excel. Changing TCE UI colors will be possible in the future. SP or MP works.
TCE reads only the NetLog, which ED provides itself. OCR ability should be no problem with the EULA of ED. Check the EliteOCR Thread (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...light=eliteocr) for more informations.
Please try the new version, it might fixes your problem. Please give feedback.
If no Start OCR Scan button showed up, the EliteOCR content is not at the right place. TCE scans after the EliteOCRcmd.exe file. His location is ..\TCE\EliteOCR\bin\EliteOCRcmd.exe. Please check it, if it is there.

I did a quick test in Excel 2013 (office 365) 32bit and can confirm beta 1.28 does indeed now work with EliteOCR scanning. Awesome work

At first, enter the commodity menu of the station, you landed. Enter then the Commodity panel of TCE. On click at the button, all commodites displayed in the commodity screen of Elite Dangerous are transfered to the TCE panel and shown after the scan. Scroll down to the next commodities and scan the others till all transfered. Make a check on the data, correct manually or make a new scan, if something missing or false. At last click on SAVE to transfer the data to the database.
English game language is needed too.

There is a 30 day "free" trial of Office w/Excel. Ofc the "free" means you still have to enter CC or Paypal info and afterwards go into account and select discontinue payment(this you can do immediately and still use excel for the month).
I have it up but having trouble grasping how it works. It does send me back in to the game but when I go to click on anything, it sends me back to desktop where the TCE is and when I click on something to use TCE it sends me back and vice versa. Sometimes I can click on TCE and it shows last known location as Dalton Gateway but I haven't started entering any info yet. When I try to use the station or the bottom lower left menu box I get an error and crash.
I dunno if me or if I installed incorrectly which I had some trouble getting Excel to accept the program as safe. Maybe if someone who has grasped the concept of how to run this could write a step by step for dummies
? I don't wanna ask too many questions especially to the dev as I'm sure he's got enough to deal with atm. Also I am in no rush for help/answers, gotta do some work around the house anyways...
I also need to close it to be able to use chrome for the internet such as being on this site. Is there a way to move or open it on
Are you running Elite in Full screen mode? If so, change it to Borderless Window mode.
For crashed or errors, please give me a screenshot and tell me, what you have done to produce the error.

Ok then, this doesn't work for me for some reason.
I have done it exactly the way you just described. Nothing was highlightet either. OCR is ofc in the correct directory of TCE (otherwise i wouldn't even see the button).
If i click the button, nothing is transfered to the TCE Commodity Panel.
What version you are using of TCE? What Excel version?
TCE 1.27 and Excel 2007 SP3
If you are using the non-dev version, please wait for the next update. Else use the V1.28beta. It kills two bugs in the OCR routine.

I'm on window 7 64bit
Tried it with 2007 sp3 (ver 1.27)
And 2013 64bit (ver 1.28 dev)
EliteOCR is shown as detected but in both cases no panel shows up when I click "commodities". All other panels seem to work.
With the office 2007 I tried moving EliteOCR to see if that was causing the problem.
Not detected at start ( as I wanted ) but still no commodities panel.
Shame as It's looking nice.

Are you at a detected station, what says the shiplogs last entry?
The Commodity panel only shows up, if you are at a TCE recorded station. When the station was not recorded before (Shiplog panel shows something like "StarName 32"), you have to add it with the Station Database panel first. After that, you can open the Commodity panel.
