I'm only using a single monitor but have exactly the same problem with OCR. It crashes all the time. Closing TCE and then restarting it sometimes helps, but not for long.
If I save the commodity list before exiting, it's usually mostly empty after restarting and has to be scanned from the beginning again.
I'm running TCE from a folder on the C drive, not the main Elite folder.
This problem seems to get worse after every update of TCE.

Running TCE on 2 monitors here with no problems whatsoever !
Every few update I have backed up my db, deleted everything else to start fresh with the newer version or update.
Might be worth a try if you haven't done so already !
You might also check witch version of EliteOcr you have.
Right now you can have problems if your version is too old or too recent lol
I am using 0.5.4.1
and as BennyBoyW as suggested it might be a conflict with another program.
You might want to compare list with MrJohnDC and see if you have one in common !

Did you run ED in the background for ages? To get this error, there have to been more than 1.000 system notes at your netlog file. I am increasing the number to 100.000 for the next update. Please start ED once without starting TCE before. That should fix it for you now.
To EliteOCR problem:
I played a while here with my single monitor setup at 1920x1200 and i didnt encounter any error with scanning commodities. Using EliteOCR V0.5.4.1.

eventure, i got one small wish for next update:
in the trade panel, when searching for best buy / best sell commodity, could you make the coulumns sortable,
so we can sort by price or by distance? using this for missions, mainly.
using the latest beta, not full, i had a small error:
locked a trade route, but the dest. panel did not show the station. it showed the comm. and the price, though.
i flew on, but even at arriving at the dest., it did not change.
will test with the 1.39 full and see if i can reproduce that.
this thing is really becoming a gem, buddy. i can't even think about playing without, even when i'm res farming.
i just love it.

Please can you give me a screencap of the issue. When previewing the route, is there also a blank display at the Trade panel?
Sorting will come, like at the Trade Scout panel, to all Trade panel columns.
i'll try to reproduce this error when i get to play this evening, but i can state the preview was fine. Just the dest. panel showing no destination.
I think I've figured out why the OCR was crashing. It seems to be Malwarebytes Anti-Malware that was causing the problem.
I put the TCE folder in Malwarebytes exclusions and then went on Elite. Went to half a dozen new stations and scanned the commodities and OCR did not crash once.
Hope this may help anyone else with the same problem I had.

I installed TCE and it runs ok when I launch (it brings me back to the game) but it is not overlaying in-game. If I alt-tab on the desktop I can see TCE but when I alt-tab back to the game it still doesn't overlay in-game. I do have borderless running and have followed all the steps. Thanks!

Hi too,
if you can see TCE only on desktop, not in-game, then ED is not borderless. I suggest you change the display mode in ED again to full-screen and then back to borderless. It must work.

First time in the system
TCE seems to be running fine and CURRENT POSITION shows BV PHOENICIS : SECTOR 70
but clicking on SHIP DATABASE does nothing !
lol The View setting for MAIN MENU/DATABASE in PANEL POSITIONS was not remembered when I upgraded to V1.39 full
Even thought I have am using my old panel.mdb and all other settings were remembered properly !
It had reverted to RIGHT and since my this panel is already on the extreme right of my screen,
it was showing outside the view-able area.
Also, the tooltips are still truncated and they looked better when they were written horizontally !

Was there a fix for the runtime error 70 permission not allowed issue?

Please deactivate UAC. Your windows is blocking TCE.
Now that I'm finally back to playing using the latests version of TCE, wow it works like a treeat now, thanks.
I have found a Data error for a systems coordinates namely Ditibi.
TCE coordinates are: x: 68.938 y: 28.468 z: 43.469
EDSC Coordinates are: x: 28.94 y: -11.53 z: 3.47
I'll check the real coordibates in the game later this evening to be sure, as Ditibi is currently 50 LY's away from my destination but TCE states it's 15 LY's away, so I think TCE's coordinates are inccorect, or they are in my DB. I've never visited Ditibi previously so I haven't updated any stats for it.

Both will be fixed in next update.
