Hello Eventure, and grats with a fantastic program. I am using two computers at home, one is running Elite, and the other TCE. Then I setup TCE and OCR to look at my elite dangerous log and screenshot folder on my networked computer. I do this so I can run Elite on three monitors, and everything else on my second computer's three monitors. I know TCE is an overlay for Elite, but I am running full screen because I am adjusting for bezel correction.

Anyways, I would like TCE to run on my second computer since I then can use TCE with all windows open on three monitors :) separated from my gaming rig. This seems to work, I just point TCE/OCR to my Elite computer correct directory for logs and screenshots. BUT, I am having trouble with TCE 'comodity' OCR scan....It wont scan (I have set the correct path in OCR - and OCR alone is working). Any tips/help would be nice....thanks :)

Eventure is very good, but I'm pretty sure even he will need more then "It wont scan"
How do you know it doesn't scan ?
do you get an error ?
When you try to scan or when you try to save ?
On full scan and replace or on update only scan ?
Can you copy and paste the debug code here highlighting the colored lined causing the error ?
Any screen shot appear in your TCE\OCR_BMP folder ?
...

What is the OCR Debug Mode window reporting? Please activate it in the Options panel and report back

The answer is simple: TCE makes the screenshots. If it is on a different PC than the game it wont be able to find the process and do any screenshots. No screenshots means no OCR. TCE needs to run on the same PC as the game for this functionality.

I completely missed that but it's Obvious, of course lol no rep available but the intention to give it was there !

Now lets take a look at the next area of the Personal Logbook: the Activities
LOG_Activities.JPG

The Activities area contain seven categories, which reflecting most activities in the game. These activities are selectable through the Travel Logbook.

For example, you reaching a station and selling your cargo. If you want to log your activity, you have to select the station from the Travel Logbook and select the activity "TRADE". Thereafter you will see the Activities area, with the Trading category and entry highlighed. Now you can select the commodities sold and enter the profit, you made out of it. After saving your adds, a small summary showing up in the note box. In addition, the total earnings of the category are updated and the profit is added to your Credit Balance.

Smuggling and some mission types have same procedure.
In Explorations you will see, how many star systems, you visited, the total distance of your travel and the profit you made from selling the data.
In Bounty Hunting, Piracy and some mission types you can select the ships, you have destroyed and the profits from bounties or rewards.
In Mining you can select the resources and the profit, you made out of it.
Following mission types you can choose from:
- Assassination
- Bounty Hunting
- Charity
- Commodity Request
- Courier
- Pirating
- Smuggling
- Transport

That's all for today, feel free to discuss or add a suggestion.

After fiddling a bit with the databases, got everything to work. Ran into another problem, though - my screen resolution. My main screen is 2560x1440. I also have the second screen that is conventional 1920x1080. With the TCE running on the main screen, it obstructs the commodities screen. Given that it is an Excel overlay, is there any chance to do either of the two: (1) increase the scale of the spreadsheet so it fits better on the main screen, or (2) run it on a separate screen? Thanks in advance!

You can adjust all panel positions and the scale of it in the Panel Position window (under Control, when using Classic UI, second last symbol, when using Compact UI).

Is there any way for me to connect TCE to my computer running Elite? I have built a nice home cockpit with two computers. Main computer with Elite running across three screens, the other computer for varoius other tasks.

Image showing my setup. The game running on the image is Falcon 4 BMS. I would love to display TCE fully on the three lower screens.

Nice setup. I'm not the developer of TCE so I cannot do it but I would recommend Eventure to do a "passive" OCR mode. Which would mean making the screenshots in the game by using F10 and then getting those over network to TCE for processing. This reduces the automation a little but would help users like Thacyoon.

Small edit: EliteOCR runs over network with almost no problems. I have it running on Ubuntu an a second PC. The difference is that EliteOCR does not do the screenshots.

Yeah... I can F-10 on my main (Elite) computer, then use OCR on my second computer to scan the files. Then I can let OCR export the scan to a file (all this is already possible in OCR). TCE only needs to be able to import the exported OCR file format. I loose the automated F-10 in TCE - but that is ok by me.

Nice rig, indeed.

Your request is a little special, so i think, we can help each other to make it run. I offer you the following:
- Make a network drive, thats pointing to the screenshot folder of ED of your other computer.
- Make a batch file, to move the screencap, made through ED, out of the network drive into your TCE OCR_BMP folder and rename it to screenshot.bmp.
- I will add a switch to disable the screencap function of TCE in the next release.

It is the fastest way atm to make this possible. How about it?

Thanks for the reply Eventure, and thanks for helping me. I have spent a lot of time building the cockpit rig - so it would be very nice to have TCE fill all the lower three screens.

Ok, so in TCE I click "Commodity" and "reset/update prices and scan", then click "Start OCR Scan" - and the prosess will run on the screenshot.bmp file present in the TCE OCR_BMP folder? This would be nice, and if it works I will post some screenshots from my cockpit with TCE running on all three 'cockpit' screens - and ED in the main screens. I think that will be awesome :)

Can you imagine TCE running fullscreen on all three screens 'inside' the cockpit? (image showing Falcon 4 BMS instruments, but soon TCE :D)
