Update (V1.48 BETA 2) released:



Changelog:
- Fixed an issue with OCR in german or french language.
- Fixed an error in Star System Database panel on a fresh install of TCE (only one logbook entry present).
- Fixed a translation issue at the Navigation Route panel.

Note:
This update didnt need any TDM usage for your database. Copy the TCE.xlsm file into your TCE folder to update your version.

Help request:
The translation of TCE to french and russian language is incomplete at the moment, i need your help in finishing the gap here, because i can't speak/write french or russian.
If you like to help, please fill up the missing translations at the Language.mdb file, mainly the Interface table text. I have done the translation as far as i can, but please check the translations present at the file, if they are correct.
Please send me your translations and i will include them asap to the next beta versions.
To try your translations yourself, to check, if they fit into the current interface, please change the TCELanguage entry at the TCE.ini file to 'fre' for french or 'rus' for russian manually.

I'm mostly a rare trader.. But was looking for something to help full up my holds from port to port.

The seemed like something good to try.

How/where can I setup/join something to share my port data with others?

Also..
the only way to fill up all these stations with data is to fly there and scan with OCR (or manually) enter the data??

Shouldn't the OCR data get uploaded somewhere?
and
shouldn't TCE be able to use all this information? (So all this data isn't blank)

Hi,

yes, you have to train EliteOCR with some scans. You doing it with the stand-alone version, not with TCE.

Your database is private, your own and will be shared by other users perhaps only to some close friends via FTP. There is no global database, where you uploading or recieving data.
Yes, you have to input the data of stations and prices you visit. TCE uses all of the data, you entered.

Hello, I'm getting the following error when starting TCE.

I searched the thread with no fix. I'm running Microsoft Office excel 2007

To train Elite OCR for TCE, simply manually run EliteOCR.exe from the EliteOCR folder within your TCE folder following the instructions in the forum post link I gave you earlier. A properly trained EliteOCR will get rid of most of those red crosses, but not all. There will still occasionally be confusion between "6"s and "8"s because of the font Frontier use in Elite.

I am totally new to TCE and OCR as of yesterday and have gone through the installation and setting up of both programmes. OCR gives near 100% perfect results outside of Elite but when in-game and I select the Commodity panel it states that "processing paused" and won't scan the market prices.

I had this symptom too, but it may not be the same problem. Does Excel end/ or offer to go to a macro screen when you click on something when it has "hung"? Are you on windows 10 with office 365? It was fixed for me, I ran a windows repair tool. I'll dig out the post.

No I'm Windows7 and Excel 2007. I actually had it working perfectly on one occasion but sadly cannot reproduce........most confusing.

Try updating Excel........worked for me.

If you having problems with OCR scanning, please activate the OCR Debug window at the Options panel to check, where the problem is, when you click on the 'Start OCR Scan' button. The 'Processing paused' note is shown, because the detection of your actual position was halted. The note vanishs, if you hiding the panel.

TCE is not a crowdsource data tool and EDDN didnt include data, that TCE needs to work as intended, e.g. the BodyID or here called SectorID. So there are no plans.

I can't find how to activate the OCR Debug window, is it through the TCE interface? The only way I can get the commodities prices at the moment is to go to Options/Troubleshooting and select 'OCR Process Window (Close it to continue)' and close the OCR Process Window manually each time I click on the 'Start OCR Scan'..........a bit long winded but it works. I presume it should auto up-date when you select the 'Commodity Panel'? I'm sure I had it working properly for a few minutes earlier today. My position whilst travelling and in station is kept current, I can see the 'Processing' note flash up when my position is updated. I only seem to get the 'Process Paused' whilst in Trade or Commodity.

If no error happens, you can deactivate the OCR Process window. The Commodity panel doesnt populate automatically, you have to scan each page of the Commodity market to get all prices. After saving the prices TCE get use of them.
Please read the FAQ and the 'How to operate' section to get deeper into how TCE works.

TCE won't run

Hi,

Read tutorials but when opening TCE.xlsm get a message saying file has content unreadable. If I choose do not recover it, file opens but is blank. If i choose to recover it says that it had to remove "/xl/vbaProject.bin parte. (Visual Basic for Applications (VBA))", and file opens blank.
Can give me any help to solve it?
Win 7 x64 pro, Office 2007 (portuguese).
