Another small issue that I am sure you are aware of but in case not ......... I am at a colony and am about to enter the station info so I can enter the trade data and we really need something to differentiate space based stations and ground based stations.

You have to add a supply value yourself before saving. No stock = no exports = no advise.

How do you do this? I've tried adding the value manually in the Scan Prices section of the update commodities and then saving but currently then have to go back into the Commidity Panel and do another scan, save (if there's supply goods), rinse and repeat. I'm guessing I've got something wrong in the workflow? Hopefully an updated Elite OCR soon.

Working hard on the .net version to pump it out asap. Working on converting the old database format to the new atm (there quite alot differences).

You don't have to save every scan separately. Scan a page, adjust the supply value for the goods and scan a new page, adjust it too and so on.
When finished scanning all pages, check the View Prices page, if you changes are correct and save it.

To transfer an old database to the actual version, use TDM. Please read the manual on how to use it.
You can't loose an database, TCE makes a backup of it on start up every day. Please check the BACKUP folder.

Minor Oddity when Scanning new commodities, sometimes it marks the commodity price as wrong even when it's correct. Possibly something to do with the Galactic Average comparison being wrong.

fter installing Horizons I have problems with scanning and always get some x'es. I have read the thread and faq and still have problems.
I updated from 1.55, which worked excellent, only with occational hickups in scanning.
Any good advice to fix this?

There is a problem with EliteOCR and the new commodity menu of ED. Going back to EliteOCR 0.5.4.1 solved most problems but no supply values are scanned at the moment by EliteOCR.Here you can download it for a test : http://bit.ly/1GfVWjM

EliteOCR needs an urgent update but I can't say, if it is furthermore supported by seeebek.

Over the whole EliteOCR code issue, if seeebek is possibly not supporting it anymore, how are you getting around this in the .net version?
Do you have your own code doing the OCR piece, or are you going to reduce the database to only support the Sell, Buy prices?

Just looking to see what your plan is.

It will be nice to say goodbye, again, to having to enter stuff manually. TCE makes the game so much less tedious if you like/need to keep track of stuff. Saying goodbye to some of the tedium is like this, without the having to die part...

Thanks for the feedback, reaslised it was what I think of as a workflow issue my end, i.e. I wasn't hitting enter after updating the supply once I'd read your post and thought about how I had been updating. So that's all good now. However I have noticed the following when doing price updates, in the OCR scan the following occurs:
Lanthanum is replaced by a second Tantalum entry
Osmium is replaced by a second Indium entry
Thallium doesn't update but guessing it is replaced by a doubled entry I've just not noticed which one yet

I'm suspecting these are related to the older version of OCR we are working with due to the change in supply/demand. Again no issue as I don't mind entering some of the data manually.

Backups I've found but unsure how to merge them with the new version database I started up, I've had a read through the instructions again and seen where I've gone wrong, no big deal given I didn't lose what I feel is a huge amount of data, I'll just read the instructions through again when your next update comes out.

Changelog(incl. Betas):
- Fixed an error at the Destination panel, when selecting a station.
- Fixed another overflow error within the Activities area at the Logbook panel.
- Fixed an issue at the Destination display, not updating the distance correctly.
- Modified EliteOCR results, that the supply value is not zero after a scan, till EliteOCR gets an update.
- Added Imperial Cutter ship type.
- Added Colony economy type.
- Added 4 new commodities.

Note:
Please use the Transfer Database Manager (TDM) for TCE V1.56 BETA 4 and older versions to make your database compatible with the actual version of TCE.

This is a beta version, because not all new stuff is translated into all languages. If you want to help, please update the language.mdb file and send it to eventure(at)ki.tng.de.
It will be included into the next non-beta version of TCE.

Also, EliteOCR having problems on reading the new commodity menu of ED: Horizons. It can't read the supply value of displayed commodities anymore because of the new bars behind it. Don't know, if/when EliteOCR will be updated to be complatible with the Horizons update, but you can add the value manually at least.

As I rethink the state of development, I have come to the conclusion, that it is a little too early to reveal, because there is alot to do, till beta state is reached and I don't want to promise something, I can't hold.

Just tried downloading it, and expanding, exe is coming up with unknown publisher and windows 8.1 is doing it's best not to launch it.
