Does it have to be in the same format as they originally came out?

Arctic - Arctic fox, polar bear, muskox, reindeer. I wouldn't bother with the Alaskan wood frog, I don't think they're high-profile enough to need to be included. For a theme-set though I'd nix the Scandinavia theme and go for a more general "rustic cabin" theme with more use and versatility, and scrap most of the Christmas decorations in favour of other scenery.

South America - Jaguar, white-faced capuchin, giant anteater, capybara. The llama is a needless inclusion without other barnyard animals to go along with it, so I'll pick the crowd favourite capybara. Again, I'd change the themes - I like the bamboo one but I'd cut the "jungle temple" in favour of maybe a more Spanish Mission-style set, or an urban, colourful Brazilian flavela set.

Australia - Red kangaroo, koala, Tasmanian devil, emu. I like the cassowary just fine, but the emu always gets the short end of the stick in zoo games, and I resent the dingo being picked over the Tasmanian devil in the original pack. The theme in this pack is great though, but I'd also include those yellow road sign pieces for the Australian animals already present, including the saltwater crocodile, eastern brown snake, and the common death adder.

Aquatic - King penguin, California sea lion, Cuvier's dwarf caiman, Asian small-clawed otter. I do like the grey seal, but the sea lion does make more sense, and I switched out the giant otter for the more conventional small-clawed otter. A lot of us felt like the giant otter was a weird pick. I do like the caiman though. I'd keep the same theme here as well, but I'd include some more marine foliage and maybe some additional scenery pieces such as a broken-up dinghy and some random driftwood pieces.

Southeast Asia - Asian giant mantis instead of the Malaysian giant leaf insect. The only other change I'd make is finishing the Malayan tapir before release.

Africa - African rock python instead of the sacred scarab. The animal choices here are perfect, but if I had the keys to the car I would have scrapped the building set and made it an animal pack, and maybe delayed it until September for that purpose while releasing a smaller pack in between. Otherwise, I'd nix the Egyptian parts of the building and scenery entirely and stick to more Maghrebi/Moorish architecture, and expand on the already present African set with whatever space I had left.

I'll do it the same format as they came out. In general the packs are great, but anyways:

I'm fairly happy with the DLC and animal choices to be honest, but there's some adjustments I'd have made.

Arctic pack - instead of the arctic wolf, the arctic fox.

South American - a capybara instead of virtually any of the animals aside from the jaguar. Still the only major misstep I feel they've made with the DLC animal choices overall.

Australia -I really liked this pack. 3 of the 4 animals would have made my pick for the pack, and the other was a close #5. Still, I'd swap out the Dingo for the Wombat. even though the Dingo was one of my choices I wanted to see, having another unique bird like the cassowary is a better idea all around. Wombats are definitely an animal I'd like to see in the game. Also, the Thorny Devil for the exhibit animal.

Aquatic - I think they picked a good general idea of animals to go with, an otter, an aquatic reptile, a penguin and a penniped, but aside from the King Penguin, I'd have swapped out all the others for other species of those groups - Asian Small Clawed or North American River Otter, American Alligator and California Sea Lion. But, those are just personal preferences. I do think we'll get another otter, penniped and probably the alligator at some point though, we're about to get a second penguin after all. (I'm less sure on the alligator of all of them, we do have other aquatic reptiles)

South East Asia - The only animal that was on my "top 30" wish list was the Clouded Leopard. But I'm enjoying the Binturong, Sun Bear, Babirusa, and Dhole as well. I get the Malaysian Tapir is popular, but I was less than impressed, and I still haven't placed a Proboscis Monkey in any zoo mode, 3 months in. I would have thrown those two out and put the Amur Leopard and a Gibbon species in instead.

Africa - the only thing wrong with this pack is it should have been an animal pack. 3 of the 4 would have been animals I would have picked for a 4 pack, and I do also like the fennec fox and realize it's very popular. I would have made this pack a 8 animal pack and included the Black Backed Jackal (my other 4 animal pick), the Crested Porcupine and the Red River Hog. Oh, and given us a chameleon for the exhibit.

if you can't tell I don't spend much thoughts on the exhibit animals.

Might be a boring take, but imo the only bad pick the arctic wolf over an arctic fox, Thomsongazelle as part of the Deluxe edition, and the Jaguar.
The Jaguar should have been basegame with the Bairds Tapir and his spot should have gone to the capybara.
The rest of the packs is perfectly fine

Amur leopards live in the Amur region of Northeastern Asia, same area as the Siberian tiger.
Ah good point. i guess I was thinking in my head and didn't specify, just make it an Asia pack not just SEA Asia. But of course, that's what is was. I guess it's fine the way it is.

Hmmm,…

Arctic: probably swap out wolf for arctic fox but I don’t mind the pack’s animals. I’d make the theme much less ‘vikingy’ though. Perhaps heading for a theme more like an arctic/Antarctic research base.

SA: Llama is my least favourite animal added so far (because it’s a domesticate. I’d have gone with Vicuña. I’m happy with the theme - I find the temple pieces reasonably flexible.

Aus: I like the dingo but there are lots of choices for a better animal: wombat and tassie devil are both obvious and good selections but I think I’d go for Bennett’s wallaby as a walk-through animal that can handle relatively cold temperatures on the assumption that the Tassie Devil makes it into a later pack. Personally I’d have preferred the wombat or emu to the koala but I know that most people would go for the koala. Theme was great for this pack.

Aquatic: I like the animals overall but would probably have swapped out the giant otter for the short-claw. Theme’s good.

SEA: love the animals in general but would probably have gone for a different monkey.

Africa: great animal choices - no change. Can’t comment on theme until we’ve seen all of it but might be interesting for a couple of purposes - probably a bit to specific to the theme and not as flexible as I’d like. But we’ll see.

Arctic pack- I really didn't like the inclusion of the Arctic wolf, would have preferred the Arctic fox. The Dall sheep wasn't a bad choice, specially as we were missing some caprids in the game, but the muskox would have made more sense (they are also some kind of goat). The building pieces aren't really versatile, so I would have changed them.

South American Pack- The llama didn't make a lot of sense, would have preferred an other camelid species (Guanaco or Viciña) or even the capybara. The white-faced capuchin monkey was ok, but I would probably have chosen an other primate species. The red-eyed tree frog isn't really a South American species, I would have preferred the green anaconda. The building pieces were fine.

Australian Pack- The dingo was kind of the worst choice to represent the Australian fauna, would have taken defitinrly a wombat or a Tasmanian devil. The cassowary was a strange choice, I really like how it turned out, but think that the emu would have been a bit better. I would have made an enrichment item for the koala with a dead tree and the mechanic kangaroo is something I still don't see much sense. And I still miss some signs for the saltwater crocodile and some of the Australian exhibit animals.

Aquatic Pack - I was really happy with this pack, would have preferred a Harbour seal or a sea lion over the grey seal, but it was totally ok. I was really hoping for a giant otter, so I am still really happy with it.

SEA Pack- So far my favorite pack, we really needed more animals. I would have taken an other, more common kept, monkey species. The dhole I would have switched for a small-clawed otter. Still don't see a lot of use in the leaf insect, as the exhibits are way to big for this kind of animals.

Africa Pack- I wouldn't change anything in the species choice, but I was really hoping this would be an animal pack. I still don't see a lot of sense in the North African building pieces.

Personally I’d take an animal pack in every situation, but keeping with the formats…

Arctic - swap the arctic wolf for the arctic fox, same as most people. Maybe reindeer for muskox, no strong feelings there though.

South American - swap the llama for the capybara, easy

Australia - swap the cassowary for the emu, and dingo for another marsupial. Tasmanian devil, wombat, tree kangaroo, any would have been fine.

Aquatic - swap the gray seal for the harbor seal, and the giant otter for either the North American river otter or the Asian small clawed otter. I imagine we’ll be getting a sea lion in the eventual North American DLC, so there’s no need to squeeze them in here.

Southeast Asian - this pack is close to perfect but I think the proboscis monkey is a bit too “out there” to include in most zoos. Replace it with a nice colorful pheasant.

African - more than any other, this should have been an animal pack. But as it is, this is probably the best possible selection of 4 animals they could’ve gone with.
