General Remote Release Flak Launcher

I didn't quite get it, what you wrote has little relevance to the topic.
The second half of my post was in reference to the people in this thread that claimed the modified shard cannon is a weapon which requires no skill.

So no, it is not strictly related to the topic, I only addressed something else that was said. And I did say there’s a point to be made for the flak or something equivalent to be made interesting/that is useful for AX conflict zones which are a lot more chaotic, and mean some of the ‘old’ style of interceptor combat methods just don’t work there.

Modified Shard canon is so overkill that you don't really need that much of skill other than a little bit of aiming.
It easily Destroys everything, The shields, the hearts, exerts hearts faster too. ModShard is the ultimate weapon.
 
Unfortunately, the way the war is balanced, you basically need to be able to insta-gib cyclopses, or you can't make any meaningful progress.

I certainly wouldn't be against higher difficulty con zones having a larger proportion of more dangerous interceptors. Maybe even have basilisks become the new default.

As far as the suggestion itself is concerned, with all the NPCs running around and everything, it becomes pragmatically impossible to deal with swarms via flak. I don't know what form it should take, but there definitely needs to be in advance in anti swarm technology.

I remembered my old suggestion, and I've seen a lot of similar suggestions here, which can help swarm control on larger ships.

Maybe we should raise the popularity of NPCs that are part of the crew and give them the ability to shoot from the crew-only turrets ?

In other words, we have turret launchers, they can only be operated by other people in the crew.
Why shouldn't my crew member, the NPC, be given this option as well.
I keep wanting to fire him, regardless of his merits, since he has no use in AX War lately.
And he's been getting into drunken bar fights on my FC.

Release the Guardian's modification of POINT DEFENSE. It will hit only swarm, but it has one disadvantage - attention - they can not be used less than 4 !

In general, I was thinking, it turns out such mechanics can be very interesting, I really do not remember where I saw something like this in the games.
For example, there is a 2nd laser, each installation separately so bad, but if you shoot together, there is a reaction and additional damage. (movie: Ghostbusters).
Or for example, shot at the ship something, around it appears a cloud and if you shoot in this cloud paired to this weapon cannon this cloud detonates.

Possibilities are a lot.
