Remote Workshop unpin not working?

Like the title says. I could have sworn I unpinned blueprints from my station before.
Now it's darkened out like the Experimental button.

Please don't tell me I have to go to the idiot to unpin it. How do I know which one I pinned it at?
There's at least 4 that do shield generators! Really not in the mood to visit each one.

Confused.

X.

You click on Engineers, in your right-HUD, and then click on an engineer to see what BP you have pinned with them.

Not sure but perhaps you can un-pin BPs from there too?

Stealthie you are correct about the right panel. I didn't know about that. Real big help there, thank you.
Can't unpin from this screen either though :(

Elvira Martuuk it is with her crappy G3s. Time to swap her out for Lei Cheung's G5s!

Sure would be nice to remotely unpin. This is a huge waste of time flying out to unpin a blueprint.
Why are there even unpin and experimental buttons there if you can't use them?? Really getting tired of
of these so called "Devs".

As with a variety of things in ED, it seems like this might've been deliberately designed as a "gotcha!" thing.

Thinking about it, I recently had a BIG near-miss with this stuff, a couple of months ago....

I'd already pinned Heavy Duty hull-armour from Selene Jean and I decided to go to Colonia and pin Light Weight hull-armour from Petra Olmanova.
Having arrived in Colonia, I found the HD armour BP had unpinned itself, which was kind of annoying but not the end of the world cos once I unlocked Olmanova I could easily carry out any armour mod's with her.

Before I headed back to the bubble, I pinned one armour mod' from Olmanova and then, when I arrived back in the bubble, I pinned the other one from Selene Jean.

I then realised that the Light Weight mod' was pretty-much pointless since it's usually better to apply a HD mod to a light-alloy hull (which weighs nothing) and then reiforce it with a HD HRP.
Doing that will always(?) give you a tougher hull, and less weight, than fitting, say, MGC armour and then applying the Light Weight mod.

That meant I could now un-pin the LW armour mod and replace it with a HD HRP mod instead.
Except that, if I'd pinned LW armour from Olmanova, it would've meant I'd have to travel back to Colonia just to un-pin it. 😧

Fortunately, as it turned out, I'd pinned HD from Olmanova, which meant I only had to visit Selene Jean to un-pin LW and replace it with a HD HRP mod' instead.
Dodged a 20,000Ly bullet there.

But yeah.
Lesson being, think really, really, carefully before pinning BPs from the engineers in Colonia.

Wow that would have really sucked. I think I would open a ticket with Frontier, if that ever happened to me. Have them restore me
to before the pin.

There is a known (at least by us, not sure if FDev) bug where blueprints don't properly pin in the first place. They will appear to, but sometimes after you leave you find that it didn't take. The workaround is whenever you pin any blueprint, log to menu and back then check that the pin is actually in place before you leave the station.

Now with regard to un-pinning a blueprint, i have the same question as above: why would you want to un-pin anything?

Because Iike my interface to be nice and tidy. Hate having unused, low grade pins littering up the place.
It's just me.

Well sorry, but it makes no sense whatsoever. IIRC the only interface the pinned BP's can change is the list of engineers on the right panel, and even there all the "littering" they can do is the "show pinned BP" buttons not being greyed out.

The game has a metric crapload of bugs and design flaws indeed, including some very annoying and nearly game breaking ones, but honestly, not being able to unpin BP's is not one of them.

It is for me if I have to fly 300LY and back to unpin the thing.

Well OK, but you really don't need to fly anywhere. Just leave the damn thing alone. Quite surprisingly it's just working as intended in this particular case (if you don't count that BP's can just randomly unpin themselves sometimes, which is an actual bug).

But what you were complaining about is neither a bug, nor a design flaw. It's called something like "obsessive compulsive disorder" IIRC and it has nothing to do with the game.

Having two pinned blueprints for the same module works just fine, and the only side effect will be once you go out remote workshop > module > you will see two possible blueprints.
Now, if you had two of the same blueprint pinned for from two engineers, I'm not sure what that would look like. I assume they would both show up since one might be a lower max grade?
To each their own, I guess. But for some perspective, That's the one screen in the entire game where this info will show up. If that's clutter to you, I hope you have some valium handy for any time you need to look at your material/data inventory...

I hope this isn't too bad of a necro. I just went to Tod's house to engineer my new 4B mc's with the long range mod; I got them up to lvl-4 then unpinned the rapid fire mod (I had pinned) and pinned the long range mod. The graphic showed the pin symbol in all 5 of the levels (which I had not noticed before). I make my way back to my neighborhood, park at a mat trader to get some cracked whatever and the pinned BPs did not show up. The old rapid fire mod is also missing. I did not change ships and yes, I still had the two big bad MCs installed. What did I do wrong?

I'll post this here and re-launch the game to see if there was a database glitch and report back if it magically shows up. GL HF

Edit: No luck. No MC BPs are pinned. I know I did what I described above. The only thing I left out was I left Tod's and flew to another system, docked and logged out for a couple hours. I came back later, logged back on, flew to the mat trader ... see above. I suppose I'll have to fly back to Tods to finish up. Oh well. :-(
