Thanks for that 'temporary' workaround, I've subscribed to it so I can see if it does work well enough. It would still be preferable for FD to provide a native feed though.
Now that GalNet news appears in-game, and includes items like this ECM recall it would be great if we got an RSS feed of the global items, or even just if http://www.elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/ was updated with them (the last it has is the September stuff about the Eranin Conflict).
If FD can at least keep that web page updated then there are means to turn it into an RSS feed ourselves.
Yes, you can just keep an eye on it in-game when docked, but maybe something will crop up where you'd love an off-line notification about it. Please don't lock this into a mobile/tablet app, especially if that's only for one of iOS/Android to start with.

I can use the link given to pull the info into a dashboard at work with a couple of clicks, so the "does not work very good" may not be true in all cases, I think.
My only issues with the feed is that the title is also the first line of the description when I pull it in and the timestamp is always 00:00:00 UTC.

Hmmm, yes, no doctype/xml declaration to start. Using the in-game dates as pubdates is likely just going to cause any reader to use "when I first saw this" as the date/time. No link or guid is also going to cause RSS readers to guess.
I'm actually now astounded that it even works in my Tiny Tiny RSS instance, which is usually a system that will barf on less than perfect feeds.

I get the date(s) - Thu, 16 Dec 3300 to Wed, 12 Jan 3301, but time is 00:00:00.
The RSS is messy (they didnt even link back to content!) but with a lot of faffing about Ive managed to get it to work with my twitter bots

I also PM'd Andrew about the issue but didnt get any kinda of acknowledgement back from him to say he was even aware

I've just been trying to get the feed working on my iPad. I've sort of got it working in Newsify but it only shows up to the "December 30 3300 - Sanna in Bid to Leave Federation" entry. If I point my PC web browser at http://elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/rss I see all the entries right up to "January 12 3301 - Federal Vice President Dies in Swimming Accident". Anyone know why this is?
