[Request] Reticle or Dot Sight Showing Center

I'm absolutely, 110% sick of trying to aim while in supercruise. Please give me an option in the setting to turn on a dot reticle or crosshair to show me where the ship is pointed.

Definitely agree that the HUD could be improved with a vector indicator or even just a fixed boresight indicator without having to deploy weapons.

If you need a stopgap solution now and aren't already using the mouse for flight control, try turning on the "mouse widget" in the controls setting. This will show a fixed dot at the center of your screen (to show the current mouse input) but if you don't use the mouse it won't move. Not a great solution but probably the best available for now.

Yeah, but the center dot gets dimmed once the mouse direction indicator moves aways from it. And as I understand the initial request, it should be possible to make it stay visible all of the time.

Oh, and a movement vector indicator would be great.

I already have that dot, but for the life of me can't remember how I turned it on.

Edit: nvm, it's the mouse widget and I don't use mouse so it's a dot all the time.

Its not ideal, but you can get a reticle by flipping to the weapon group containing your scanner systems while in analysis mode. The reticle will fade after a few seconds but if all you're doing is lining up a flight path in supercruise, it works.

Doesn't work, since center moves when turning. Tried the fixed crosshair which my monitor can display, and center of cockpit moved away from center of monitor during course changes...

First screenshot with mouse in neutral: big dot in the center

Second screenshot with mouse widget visible due to ship turning: dot in the center dimmed so heavily it's almost not visible anymore:

Would be great, if there were an option to have the center dot visible permanently, no matter if the mouse widget is displayed or not.

I play on PC and have the mouse widget turned on which gives me the requested dot all the time with no fading however I don’t use the mouse in game as I use a HOTAS instead.

Yeah, that's the difference. If you don't use the mouse, the mouse widget will never show and the dot will never be dimmed. Same for me on my PC where I use a joystick, but when playing on my tablet I use mouse controls...
