RES Difficulty

Question time!

Other than newbies, would anyone find it particularly confusing of the difficulty of the 4 Resource Extraction Sites, was also governed by the security level of the system they're in?

So the easiest possible RES would be a Low RES, in a high security.
And the hardest being HAZ RES, in an Anarchy.
There would be some overlap in the middle, for example a HAZ Res in a high security system might be just as hard as a low Res in a Anarchy or something.

On a scale of 0-10, 10 being the hardest, the current HAZ Res would fall somewhere around 5.
A HAZ Res in an Anarchy would be a 10.
A low Res in a high security would be a 0.

Difficult for me, is based on wing sizes, ship class and rank, and how many security ships show up, and not just how much HP the target has. Bullet sponges are not fun. :p

The Difficulty rating is also directly linked to the average wing size. However, it can fluctuate either way.

I'd make a table showing it all, but I have no idea how using mobile. Lol

It would go something like this.
High security;
Low Res=0
Res=1
High Res=2
Haz Res=3

Medium Security;
Low Res=2
Res=3
High Res=4
Haz Res=5

Low Security;
Low Res=4
Res=5
High Res=6
Haz Res=7

Anarchy;
Low Res=5
Res=6
High Res=8
Haz Res=10

Did I miss a security rating?

I think that would allow us all to tailer our own combat difficulty, with plenty of room to improve.
A difficulty 10 Res would be something only either the best pilots, or wings, of engineered ships could handle.

just make the HAZRES a place you shouldnt go if you are not sure of your skills.
i ponder quite allot in HAZRESs and after the last few updates they have become boring as hell!
finding a wing of 3 anacondas is really rare, while i can beat them in a FAS on my own..

It possibly is too complicated (that's why I asked, it doesn't seem complicated to me, but then I thought of it. Lol)

I just think that 4 grades of difficulty aren't really enough. Especially if you turn a HAZ Res in to a utter nightmare Res. Then you only have 3 grades of difficulty, and 1 area for experienced wings. With no room for expansion.

maybe set a treat level like USS, depending on the state of the system and the security, the treat level can change of a RES.

That would work. Then instead of having Low/High/Haz, you can have;
"Resource Extraction Site:
Threat Level 0-10"

with 7-10 being security-less, aka Haz Res....?

i think it would be easyer if it would be kept in line with the USS, so that they go upto treat 4.
That way we can keep the names, so you have a clear indication if its haz or hi.

But i agree with your idea that a hazres in an anarchy system should be dangerous. atm anarchy system are kinda dull with low ranked npcs.
 
I love the term "treat level" rather than "threat level". I know it is a typo - but so much more enticing and accurate. Treat Level 1000 - buckle-up, and set-yourself up for a couple of hours of pew-pew & dakka-dakka!

Lol, yeah english aint my native language, so stuff like that happens quite allot to me.

Ah, I get you. So like "Low Res Threat Level 1-4", "High Res Threat Level 1-4", etc?

Even better. :) That's 16 levels of difficulty.
