Resetting your save - First discovered by

For my own reasons, I'm thinking I'll restart as a new commander.

The only thing I want to know is, will all of the planets I have first discovered by credit for lose my name from them?

I understand that everything related to your carachter is delete, so also possibly everything related to exploration too (I think also tagging, but don't quote me on that).

an alternative would be destroy everything and retrofit from sidey plus 1000 cr, and RP that something happened but you keep your stats

You could just crash the most expensive ship you can afford into a space station, and then declare bankruptcy. If you still have too much funds just rinse and repeat until the money is all gone. I've thought about once or twice a day ever since I outgrew my sidey and eagle.

Let's take it a step further!

If that ramming at George Lucas station (or anywhere, really) is still going on, you could go on the offensive and do some ramming of your own until you are broke...

This behaviour was confirmed to me by another player.
I'll try to find the quote, but I think I unsubscribed to the respective thread, so no idea if I can find it again.

Yes - Systems that were given "discovered by" retroactively (that had been visited before the tag was implemented) all got tagged by the discovery scanner.

I know for certain because my first Gamma CMDR has tagged LHS 2552 right next to Founders World... That guy lived for a few hours and never surface scanned anything.

Just to give a definitive confirmation. I reset my commander with a new name. I've built up a new T6 explorer and been out to visit a few of my old commanders first discovered bys. All are still against my old commander name.

I can confirm this as well. I cleared my save to see what it would be like to start from scratch and only explore. My previous first discoveries still have my old commander name.
