Reshade broke my VR and now I can't remove it

Hi All,

I tried to give Reshade a go and it's fine in pancake but I can't start VR with it, it always just launches pancake. I tried uninstalling Reshade. Reshade says it uninstalled but it still loads when I start ED and VR will not kick in. So I went through the registry to remove all trace but the stuff in windows driver store, which I presume belongs to the NVidia driver.

Does anyone know how to definitively get rid of Reshade without re-installing the whole game? Although I'm sceptical that would work because I backed up the whole game into an archive before I installed Reshade and after I deleted the game folder and restored from the archive, Reshade still loads.

Any ideas?

Does anyone know how to submit a ticket for support? I vaguely recall that FDev make this unreasonably hard. I've been through their support website and it's just FAQs and a link to the issues tracker. I know there is a way to raise a ticket because I've done it years ago but I can't see the 'Create Trouble Ticket' link.

So far I've re-installed the game and also my graphics drivers but ED will still not launch in VR. WMR starts normally and activates the headset and the WMR Steam API starts normally and sees the headset but ED just always goes straight to pancake.

Whatever the problem is, it's ED specific because I've just played 5 mins of SkyrimVR.

Reshade is not, never has, and never will be supported in VR.
Reshade is also not endorsed or supported by FD in any way either.

I'd wipe every singel directory you have modified if you know of, and run a repair from the launcher.

Thanks Chaps, clearly I'm learning my lesson the hard way. That will teach me for optimism.

I did try that link thanks but it didn't make any difference. It assumes that Reshade 'only' makes changes to the game directory, however I have demonstrated that this is not the case on my particular PC by uninstalling and trashing the game folder. When I downloaded the launcher and re-downloaded the game, the problem is still there and still only affecting ED ( which was the only game I selected for Reshade. All other games work fine so how can Reshade affect change anywhere other than the game dir? )

Now I've uninstalled again and, this time, I'm trashing everything Frontier related in AppData and my registry - because FDev are terrible when it comes to leaving stuff behind.

In a few hours, when it's download again, we'll see if that works. Otherwise I'll have to wipe the PC to remove whatever it is that Reshade did.

I'm irked, going to buy fudge because it's on sale. Either of you want any?

Still getting no-where with this. Have now trashed the entirety of Steam and the WMR Steam API plugin. Since the PC isn't generating any info to hint at where the problem might be I'm just reduced to sequentially trashing components and re-installing until something changes. Really hoping to avoid a rebuild but it's looking less and less likely

Probably already done it, but try checking the audio and video settings. My rift stopped working after an update and turned out monitor had changed from HDM to monitor1, audio does the same as well...worth checking

Copy the ED.exe into a single directory.
Then launch the reshade isntaller and choose that exe. You'll see which files were installed and you could uninstall those.

Maybe a stupid question, but did you remember to set the correct audio output (headphones or speakers) in ED's Graphics 3D settings?
