Restaurants

Anyone hoping they add them into the game. Yes, there has always been vendors but the one item I feel has been missing was actual restaurants.
Now I'm not talking like buildings that you have to create yourself. I would be more than happy to have a range of pre-made structures you can place down which have different themes and styles of food, it just would make it seem slightly more realistic if you have places that certain types of guests (families, large groups) would visit more often at certain times of the day for lunch etc, thus making the bigger based rides (rollercoasters) within that area of the park slightly less busy which could allow a slight rush to that ride with guests who are by themselves or in a couple, if you get what I trying to say.
Admittedly the whole idea regarding busy 'feeding' periods may sound strange but it does tend to be how real theme parks work, however, how they could implement what I guess you would call 'routines' into the script of how guests work I don't know?
Anyway just an idea I've always had which I thought I would put out there.

I agree with you Astay88, a few ready made restaurants would be a nice improvement to the game, maybe two or three different styles, wouldn't be to demanding for the dev team to put in the game. Maybe all different sizes and at least one with an outside seating area attached. Not everyone is good at creating their own buildings and by having a few to start off your park would help those that are not very creative. I would also like to see a few different styles of entrances that can be used in the sandbox mode and not just the scenario creator.

I asked about shops/restaurants in one of the Q and A's and they said they would later show us how we could use scenery to fit our needs in shops/restaurants. I'm not sure if this means sit down restaurants, but maybe bigger food stalls with eating plazas or food courts.

Technically, you can build everything you want with the piece-by-piece building system.
If you don't want to build something by yourself, I'm pretty sure you can download all the user built stuff from the online gallery!

Having vendors placed inside a pretty big restaurant-shaped building is the same thing as having a custom 3d model for a restaurant, because in both the cases you can't really check what's going on inside the walls. User generated buildings on the gallery will give you infinite "restaurant" designs though, so that's even better!

At least that's the idea behind every single piece-by-piece building built in RCT1,2,3 until now! [yesnod]

This.

The only thing we need is that in the counters we can select know full menus instead of building one for sodas, another for burguers, ect... And then you can choose different types of menus, or make restaurants selling italian, asian...
Having small premade restaurant buildings where people go inside like the rabbit holes of The Sims 3, basically the system RCTW is using when people asked for restaurants, is not the way to go.
If you dont want to build them yourself you download one of the restaurants the community makes, I can assure its going to be better and more creative that what RCTW is using, and theres going to be a bigger number of them.

Yup, I think that's the way to go

Very true. I have no problem with creating piece by piece. Have done so many times in RCT3 and created some pretty good (imo) buildings for this exact reason to put vendors inside. I guess what I was trying to get at was more the aspect of if you placed vendors inside a particular building then it would make sense that if you created a seating area in the same location with benches or something, that the guests would use those to eat at, which would create a restaurant type feel. It all comes down to what the devs think would be possible in terms of how much they can do with guests and how they work.

Yes, counters! As I said, I'm all for creating my own buildings if necessary as you can create around other obstacles but instead of just having a generic custom vendor stand like they did in RCT3, you could also have a counter with a cashier on it which you could alter what you would sell as well like you mentioned.
I'm sure the custom community will always create the misc. items like food boards etc. It's just making everything look and feel more real.

"Or this thread are starting to become ciclical or I suggested this many time, in a very similar way" [haha]

(This is private joke for SPRidley [big grin])

I know that we can build everything with the piece-by-piece modular building system. But how can we combine our buildings with a restaurant, where peeps/guests can pay money. You need to be able to select a region from your building to define something. At least the piece-by-piece building should not just be a death building which looks like a restaurant.

What really is needed to make this possible is to have just a ready built counter, which in reality could be made as an in game stall, selling meals and drinks. You could then place this counter /stall call it what you like, onto an area of your park, then build a building around it, large enough to replicate a restaurant. this would attract the guest to enter, because it is selling food. There would have to be some tables and chair seating sets to add to the inside the building and some seating sets with and without parasols for placing outside your restaurants as well.
It could be that the dev team have already got something like this in mind, but hasn't been covered yet, in fact we haven't seen any food/drink stalls yet.

I think this kind of restaurants will be possible in the game. It looks like we can place non-themed shops as single blocks in the game, and build a building around it afterwards. You could then make any restaurant that you want on the outside with the scenery that you have available.

Take a look at the public Dev Diary #2, at 3:22 and onwards. It looks like a shop to me, because there is no ride next to it from which it might be a ticket shop.

Yes, even if we dont have "real restaurants", we can use "tricks" to make one (and this is exactly why they can allow us to make "hotels" if they really want, not real ones, but using some tricks like that, but it's off-topic)

Anyway, there are still many questions. Can we put this "bench table" ON the path ? If not, it's impossible to build "indoor restaurants". Can we also have "normal restaurant tables and chairs" and not only "bench table" ?

Wait and see I guess ...

I think we will most likely make restaurants with stalls and scenery. I'm not sure how/if we will be able to make gift shops though. Maybe with product holding carts that have shelves to display the merchendise.

a new screen shot they have:

About the gift shops, apparently, and by considering the artwork of the hat shop, I guess the same way we can make fast-food or ice cream seller : that mean "Simulated-one" using those "stalls" surrounded by a building.
