Because for every sale they have made at 10,000 they have lost twenty at 650.Why are people questioning this? They removed the cheap paint jobs in order to force you to spend more ARX if you don't want the factory paint jobs. Taking away customer options to get more $$, welcome to capitalism. LOL
You say that, but do you honestly think they did this to lose money, or to make money?Because for every sale they have made at 10,000 they have lost twenty at 650.
I think they did it to make money, I also think they got it wrong. But in the wider world of the game outside the minority on the forums etc. only they can tell. You say that, but do you honestly think they did this to lose money, or to make money?
We all know it's a marketing move, what we disagree with is that its a good marketing move. It may be working for Fdev in the grand scheme of things, which is a massive shame because for some of us it removes our ability to actually give money for something we want, and if it does come back it'll just feel like manipulation due to the limited time nature driving the prices up. I accept capitalism as a driving force of our society, but I don't accept it as the only metric to define success or good practice. This is a bad move for us as consumers, period. Why are people questioning this? They removed the cheap paint jobs in order to force you to spend more ARX if you don't want the factory paint jobs. Well that would be a dumb idea. Developing content not everyone is interested in is one thing (you can't please everyone) but putting stuff that used to be available behind that is like double tapping your foot.Would it be in the realm of possibility that they've reserved part of the back catalogue of skins for PP rewards?
I am assuming the only reason they added the power play modules to get more interest in PP. There are groups who do PP and BGS but the majority don't really care for it .Well that would be a dumb idea. Yes but all that did was get some people to sign up to get the modules that still had no interest in PP.I am assuming the only reason they added the power play modules to get more interest in PP. There are groups who do PP and BGS but the majority don't really care for it .
But they can they say look how good we are all these people are doing PP. And pat themselves on the back.Yes but all that did was get some people to sign up to get the modules that still had no interest in PP.
Back before they introduced Arx lots of colours were sold in packs such as Tactical and Military or even Vibrant there used to be people complaining that they only wanted one or two of the colours and wouldn’t it be a good idea to sell them individually. If they really want to declutter the store, why not combine a lot of the colors into combination packs? Before, someone might only buy one vibrant color for a relatively low price tag. But if you like the vibrant colors, you might be just as likely to buy all of the vibrant colors in one pack, and effectively buy seven times as many paint jobs.
What really confuses me is the fact they removed some of the recently released really nice paint jobs, like the Vanguard ones. I don't mind having an exclusive Vanguard paint job on my cutter, but I did kind of want to buy another one for my corvette, and now I can't.

Then they made all the communities equal by introducing Arx and got rid of the packs of paint.

If the issue really is FDev marketeers wanting people to pay a bigger lump at a time to tie into the ARX packages, maybe they should consider reintroducing the packs? Sure, very few are willing to pay 1000's of ARX for one tactical paintjob, but for the full suite for one ship? Maybe.... and sell each repaint for the price of the pack.

That's an interesting point. I also don't care about getting the weekly ARX anymore. The worst side effect of this change for me is that my motivation to login and get weekly arx limit dropped even lower than it was already.
