Restore Power mission won't register Power Regulator insert

I can't finish any restoration mission. When I do insert power regulator into the housing and boot the reactor, it won't simply register objective completition.

I tried missions in different systems, all with the same result.

It happens if you do it too fast.
Did you try powering down then back up again?
That works for me when it happens.
Make sure the tick box is visible in the top right corner.

Oh I didn't know you could do this too fast. Will try it today, take out the energy regulator again and see what happens then, thanks for the tip.

Also if you get a black panel for putting out fires there's a second panel behind a large red cuttable panel on the roof usually.

Just to be 'obvious' - you did use the mission unique power regulator given to you, not another one you had in your inventory, right? Make sure to look for the one with typically blue text and an icon when equipping it, if you happened to bop in and out of your SRV to take care of scavengers first or something...

Many thanks for the all the tips! On some missions I just have to wait until the check box goes. On other missions I have to remove the energy regulator and reinsert it - the whole thing is a bit shaky.

I imagine that means some server issues/latency. I don't recall having that difficulty but haven't done those missions in a few weeks. I'm sure once you stick it in (ahem), there's an acknowledgment server-side that has to happen for you to get the checkbox (well helloooo sailor! ...or, something similar, I'm certain).
