Retirement of The Gnossis and her last journey.

Perhaps not all commanders noted the fact of imminent retirement of The Gnossis. The Gnosis is owned by Canonn and is used as exploration vessel by that group. The Gnosis is known for providing long distance travel to exotic and research worthy places before fleet carriers were available for individual commanders. Many commanders who where on The Gnossis board in early September 3304 remember tragic events in the Cone Sector area where The Gnossis and accompanying commanders experienced a savage attack by Thragoid fleets lurking in corners of the Outotz ST-I d9-4. After the tragic events The Gnossis retuned to weekly space exploration jumps and took us to many interesting locations.

On June 8, 3306, the Canonn Council announced that The Gnosis would be retired from long-range exploration efforts. Despite being designed for an operational period of 20-24 years, Canonn engineering staff determined that the vessel had suffered too much wear and tear, especially due to the Thargoid attack in 3304 and the installation collision in 3305, to continue in its original role.

From September 10, 3306 The Gnossis will begin her last journey consisting of seven stopovers before reaching dropping her anchor in orbit of the quirky moon Mitterrand Hollow in Epsilon Indi system.

Ian is correct - she's on a loop. The retirement was the fact that Canonn lost the ability to manually drive her (as Fleet Carriers were being added so everyone can do that now).

On June 8, 3306, the Canonn Council announced that The Gnosis would be retired from long-range exploration efforts. Despite being designed for an operational period of 20-24 years, Canonn engineering staff determined that the vessel had suffered too much wear and tear, especially due to the Thargoid attack in 3304 and the installation collision in 3305, to continue in its original role. After The Gnosis returned to Varati on September 10, 3306, it was formally retired and began a permanent, looping tour route of eight systems, most of which contained a site of scientific interest. The Gnosis was also converted into a training facility for Canonn personnel, but remained open to guests.[15] Meanwhile, the Nautilus-Class Carrier OCD-GNOSIS-#B# was launched on June 13, 3306 in the Panoi system as a replacement for the megaship.

The barbershops, all 20 of them, we're all clean, nice music, and all of The barbers there are just the nicest bunch of guys you could ever have your haircut by.

I will miss knowing the old girl is out there doing the Science God's work....I won't miss the terrible kebab shop they had on deck 7 though - place gave me the space-runs.
