Community Event / Creation Retro Lave - A New Section of Lave Radio

That's fine :) but how is one supposed to make sure one has the correct game in one's possession in time for the next session old bean?

Simples.

If it is something that is obscure or that I can not easily get hold of then I give everybody more warning. If its available cheap on something like Gog I tell folks on Thursday (ish)

Hope Fozza recovers.

Hmm this is the first title in Retro Lave I don't know. I've been playing all the games after Retro Lave covers them as I also had them all.

Just checked it out on GOG looks good I have to say. I have had it on my wish list for a while now. :)

Episode 5 Tachyon The Fringe

Hey folks Episode 5 of Retro Lave has been completed.
Grant has been to hell and back trying to create a podcast out of the mangled mess of recordings we had from the night.

Dr Grantinstein's creation will be uploaded this afternoon.

Massive thanks to Grant again with his efforts on this show, and of course those that take part on the night too.

After this Episode we have been looking at changing things up a bit in terms of format and recording so Episode 6 may be a little delayed.

Hi guys. Enjoyed the Tachyon podcast.

Been playing it a little myself. Thought it was ok but wouldn't give it more than 6. The gameplay interface seemed unfinished and the key choices strange. Fortunately ships I was escorting didn't complain about the odd shot or missile hit when I got the weapon linkage wrong.

I guess it is hard to judge fairly when it was released 13 yrs ago. It definity wasn't a bad game.

The sandbox label while not a lie was at best misleading - I didn't find much (any) reason to do anything other than follow missions. Perhaps it needed more than the 3 hours I gave it. I didn't feel immersed

Looking forward to the long play update.

I noticed Tachyon is not on GOG (unless I missed it).

Is there a GOG like place I can buy Tachyon ? I don't want anything like Steam/third party clients needed etc.... :)

I found it here at Novalogic to buy. http://www.novalogic.com/games.asp?GameKey=TTF
Never bought from these guys before though. Anyone know if they ok ? Is there DRM ? ie online activation etc ?

we got ours from ebay, nowhere other than steam and its part of a bundle...

if you pm me your address I will post you my copy.

Very kind of you Psykokow but that's ok.

I think the best thing would be to buy the novalogic one from their website after I do some more research as to whether it has DRM.

I have a 2nd-hand copy from Ebay (without Manual) and it works fine (asks for activation code printed on the DVD). I couldn't get the auto-update feature to work (not really surprised tbh) and it doesn't require any registration unless you want to play multiplayer (I think).

Cheers Zplintz.

If it needs a code to activate like the Sims (ie offline) not a problem. So long as it does not ask for internet access to activate.

From what I see from Novalogic I don't think it will.

I have the original disk. Apart from the usual copy protection from back then, no online activation needed. I too hope this appears on GOG someday. :)
