Return of the kebab AI?

I tried a few Megaship defense scenarios and noticed some strange AI behaviour.
First, I find these scenarios are quite fun, so if you haven't tried it yet you definetely should. Just drop out at the next Megaship and the scenario usually starts within 2-3 minutes. Now to the problem, the game spawns several NPCs, usually Cobra, Viper, Vulture, Chieftain, Python and a few Anacondas. The Anacondas are trying to steal cargo from the Megaships while the other ships act as support. If you target the Anacondas directly they simply stop pirating, turn around and fly in a straight line without defending themselves. Eventually you'll get a message that they are trying to high wake, but the jump never happens, they are just sitting there doing nothing. So far this happened at every scenario I tried.
