Returning for 3.0, start options ?

Coming back for the update but not sure whats best ... 1. Delete my save for fresh start. 2. Continue where I left off. 3. Buy another copy of the base game + horizons (Is this possible with steam / or how could I do it ?)

I'm leaning towards delete & fresh start ... just hope I don't regret loosing my previous progress ...

I personally would never delete my hard work but some Cmdrs make a bubble account and an exploration account. That might be an idea for ya instead.

I bought a new account before 3.0 dropped and have spent a fair few hours on that one since release, really enjoying starting from fresh.

I bought another game package some time around the Christmas package and created Rick Sanchez (3L-173)... not specifically for 3.0 but he's enjoying it.

Decided to limit him to Open only, Small ships only (plus the Keelback aka SLF Sleeve and the Mighty Type 7 as his sole Medium transport) ... He's not allowed to fix the integrity or paint jobs of anything he flies... Plus, all repairs are AMFU, hull limpet only, in keeping with his character as Rick 173 on Finite Curve 3L, aka. The Elite Dangerous reality.

His current favourite ship is his decrepit, rusted bright yellow sidewinder, "The Evil Morty" (one railgun, one seeker missile pod).

Buy another account. Definitely. You may well regret deleting your save after you restart... I did in No Man's Sky... I'd got myself a freighter, a fantastic base, the works... Restarted and then remembered how hard it had been to farm materials, only to realise they had nerfed all the farming schemes to Hell and raised the cost of freighters to frightening prices!
