Reverberating Cascade Mines inside stations

Hello Commanders!

I'll see if we can get a new heavy ordnance crime sorted out for no-fire zones, triggered by firing missiles, torps and mines, and carrying a bounty, for the next major update.

Might be worth pondering on a mechanism whereby the station neutralises the mines/torps/missiles in addition to any consequence for the perpetrator.

These types are quite happy to swallow endless rebuys in pursuit of CG giggles.

Super Point Defence would sort that. One that can 1 shot a torpedo.

But Sandro... WAIT!!!! What if we need to launch mines inside a station to kill infiltrating Thargoid. It could happen. That mail slot is huge.

:D :D :D

Well known griefer was listing exploits on this forum, one was killing inside the station without lethal response. So now, I know..

Mines are one of my favorite pvp weapons. I'd never use them inside a station (unless I was going after a specific target).
Realistically, due to poor engineer design by Fdev, for small ships they are the only way to crack large ship's engineered shields. A sidey with standard weapons could pound on a vett, cutter or FDLs shields until out of ammo and might get half a ring.

um if its INSIDE the station just have the station vaporise the weapons deployed instantly and then the ship deploying the weapons too. i would think inside the station is so much more vulnerable they wont want to take with a mere bounty. it takes a lot of resources to build a new station after all.

I think I know who these folks are. In that case, the other thing that needs fixing is how they exploit power play to conduct their shenanigans. Essentially, they just pledge to whichever power play faction is in control of the CG station. The one hour timeout is making no difference. This frequent pledge/unpledge could probably be generating negative Karma for the C&P system.

.... and have Station defences preferentially target the munitions (and the ship that launched them) immediately on release?

Reverberating Cascade mines?
I didn't know there was such an animal.
He's one of the few engineers I have. Must investigate.

I roll with Ion Disruptor mines after watching this video by Massive D:

It's nice in theory but the only time I've used them on a player, I took a rebuy.
The Ion Disruptor engine reboot got me on a low level bombing run.

Doesn't even need to be an order of destruction, the first variable to code would be that all heavy ordnance inside a station is considered hostile to the station, the second would be that any ship releasing heavy ordnance in the station becomes wanted. Set those two variables and the result of releasing a mine in a station would be instant destruction of mines and ship very efficiently (as we have most of us experienced once or twice, lol). P.S. I've still never been destroyed by a station in 650 hours and I never have had a Docking Computer! I guess I must be a boring player. :D
