Reverse the mine launcher nerf

What amazes me is after so long nobody in FD is considering rev cascade effect to be too powerful, but rather make base weapon completely useless. Good to know, now i will change mines to torpedoes on my trade t9. What's next now? torpedoes speed reduced to 50m/s?

It took you this long to find out because no one uses mines. And no one in FDev cares enough to buff them, so they nerfed them instead.

I'll have to agree here, mines were a lot better to use with the lower arming time and longer duration.

Can't even figure out the logic behind the nerf in the first place, did someone at FD try them out and decide they were overpowered :D? lol

That'll be not possible because no one in FDev is combat competent enough to use mines.

TBH I'm surprised that they haven't touched the meta weapons yet.

Well they did buff PAs that one time lol.

Maybe the extended arming time was to combat them self detonating against the mothership when launched from something like an Anaconda.

Keep in mind I haven’t messed with mines for a long while, but they were pretty useless on a Conda without some creative maneuvering.

Maybe they had good intentions? I can’t see why they’d bother changing mines at all otherwise.

I actually like that change, or at least a longer arming time. 5s sounds a bit excessive, but those dive-bomb cobras were annoying.

Oh, god, the friendly fire from those guys were the worst lol.

Add that to a PvP etiquette thread— don’t being mines to a wing fight.

Otherwise, a little lateral thrust was generally enough to counter hostile mines.

Mines should not explode on friendly impact.

The arming time for mines has been greatly extended to about 5s. This makes using them for PvP nearly impossible. It even makes using them for defense impossible.

This is a senseless decision and should be reversed immediately.
Wait, when did that happen? I frequently use mines in PvP on and against all kinds of ships. Until now they had a 1 second arming time but I didn't play the past couple of weeks/months. However, there hasn't been anything in the april patch notes either. Source?

There is no bleeding source. It's like a "badly kept secret" Nerf. Even going through the whole of LAST YEARS notes I cannot find a single mention about it.

Carebears once again win.

Revert the mines. Also, put the effect your drag munitions had on before again, Carebears cried about it.

The boost prevention is stupid, ESPECIALLY when it has a dumb cool down like TLB or dispersal. But mines? Who asked for that nerf? i can't remember a single post anywhere about it. It also has no balance reason. Mines were perfectly fine. I need to test this though.

It was such a stealthy stealth nerf obviously not even the pirates using mines noticed it 😅

(Seriously though: can anyone confirm this for sure?)

It's more the time we're hit by mines :D:D but I did notice many NPC miners in RES deploy minefields (they're miners, so... well, they have mines LFMAO :D ) when we shoot at them and get caught by their own explosions.

I'd not be susprised to know that such 5secs arming timer has been stealthy introduced to counter an NPCs' AI failure...

thanks for this i've been searching for confirmation of a recent change to mines. i've been testing them recently as i haven't used them for a long time and i for the life of me could not get them to detonate against an NPC. at first i thought their proximity effect was severely reduced as it appeared i could only get them to detonate if the mine made contact with hull but i didn't account for the arming time being increased to 5 seconds.
