Review: Double engineered 3A shield generator

well, a bi-weave has only 23 mj less shields, but it goes from 50% > 100% in 43 seconds (with high cap)
The 3A (with fast charge) does that in 77 seconds.

IF we add the delay timer to start recharging... bi-weave is even better
From a regeneration perspective, of course the Bi-Weave is better. The point of this is the resistances, which you can get far higher than normal by having the double engineering, and adding say 1 heavy duty + super cap and 1 resistance augmented + thermal boosters, and you're doing pretty well for all resistances.

I'm almost done outfitting it (Guardian FSD Booster isn't unlocked yet), but I haven't yet gone to the engineers to get everything just how I want it, so it's not been field-tested just yet. Here's what the plan is, and of course you need to account for the special Power Plant and Shield Generators not being selectable so some numbers go up): https://s.orbis.zone/dr6v

Well, this thing fails to fill any niche for me. Thought I'd switch the class 3 Prismatic of my DBX out for this, but it just straight pales in comparison. Higher power draw, and half the shielding of the prismatic, who though this would be a great combination?
Resitances are cute, but they won't help much when the plasma-gankboat comes charging.

It's not designed to replace a Prismatic. I think it's a good option for CMDR's that don't have Prismatics, ones that don't want Prismatics for various reasons (e.g. too heavy, too long of a regen), or simply using a small/medium cargo ship where this is good to use as a defense against pirates before high-waking out. You don't have to like or use it if it doesn't fit your style, but I wouldn't dump all over it just because you don't have a use for it.
