I'll take a look at this tool shortly, but does it have routing options?
Some of the fun in ye olden days was doing a big loop round as many as possible.
I think I started in a hauler and ended in a t7 the once (but this was before these new much higher caps), which I gather is a pittance in credits per hour (tm) these days.
Routing options? Tool? Well, it's a very DIY excel sheet ... don't expect too much.
You can tell the sheet where you are by copying and pasting your coordinates. The sheet then calculates all distances from you to the other systems with a rare commodity. You can then sort those by distance, or apply a filter to your liking.
For instance, you're at Jameson Memorial. Your coordinates are 55,72 / 17,59 / 27,16, copy those and past them at "your location". The J column now shows all distances from you. If you click the filter butten of that column you can choose to sort by those distances. Sort them low to high. Now you can see that Jaradharre is the closest system with a rare, 33,83 Ly away. But it's station is a 525,542 Ls trek. So the next system is Crom at 39,71Ly, but that's a permit system. So you may want to pick another.
And in the personal notes section, in the V column, you could give each commodity that you'd like a number, so you can create your own route as you go. Next loop you could filter out all the systems not in your loop, and sort them by your numbering, and you have your own custom loop.
I also have 3 columns there with the 3 closest systems (excluding some). Although I've been filling those fields as I go, I haven't really been using them. You can use them to sort of recognise clusters, when a group all point to eachother.
Other filters I have applied and found useful where to filter by faction. I went around the Empire systems for a bit. Or to apply a filter to the distance from Sol. I filtered out everything within 100Ly of Sol, to stay out and make a big loop. Or you can filter on the coordinates, to stay in the negative Z for a bit, and so on.
