RGB Support for Elite (almost any device)

Somewhat of a work-around for using Aurora with Elite, if Aurora looses focus while exiting the game and returning to the main menu.

I set Aurora to load when the system boots and it lives in the Systray. Of course, Aurora is also set to watch for the launcher and run when it sees the game running, but sometimes after leaving the game and returning to the Elite main menu, and then back to the game, Aurora seems to quit.

So, Using VoiceAttack, I have EDDI profile which loads and runs as a global profile. Since the Singularity profile will not allow additional commands or to be edited, I edited EDDI.vap to include a voice command to activate Aurora while the game is running.

I added a voice command called "Run Aurora" and set the parameters to "run a command" under "other/windows" in the profile editor. So, while I am in the game, I just say "Run Aurora" and it will activate the keyboard sequence if Aurora has lost focus in the game while the game is running.

o7 Commanders!

Long time ago I've tried to create a Java app to support RGB keyboard lighting for my Logitech keyboard (the old thread). After some time it felt like a dead end so I moved to other things (thanks to @TomW1605 for somewhat keeping that project alive while I was gone!).

Long story short, I've decided to use Aurora (https://www.project-aurora.com/) to bring this project back to life with support for more devices and I am at a point where feedback is needed.

Current supposedly working features are:
1) Key binds are highlighted automatically from the game
2) Different color groups for different category of game actions
3) Some keys are pulsatingg when a cetain ship function is active (cargo scoop, lights, silent running, etc.)
4) Only keys, that can be used are highlighted (e.g. FSD keys are dimmed while mass locked or FSD in cooldown, etc.)
5) FSD countdown, hyperspace, hyperspace exit animations
6) Customisable colors for command groups
7) Some other stuff I may have forgot

Issues/requests can be posted here: https://github.com/DrParanoia/Aurora/issues

Please let me know what you think. Is this something you'd like to see? Is it worth it? Thanks!

The file you link to has been archived because it is outdated and is no longer available. Aurora is now at version v0.8.1.

You can download the latest version from the website.

Direct Download.

Ok, fine. Thank you.

Just installed it, but cant get it to work, as the v0.81 likes to work with the older logitech driver software!
i have the LGHUB installed, tons of games are in the 0.81 viewable besides ED also, but when i click on ED, i only can see a few different colored keys...

Is this all?

i remeber the first older java release, where an nice System jump or fsd jump was very cool gaphically implemented to my G910 Keyboard.

But now it looks very ordinary to me..

And, where can i find the ED Profile? Is it implemented in the Aurora Soft? If so, i cant find it in there / cantmanage to run it

thanks, cheers

P.S. Any good instruction video out, where we can see on how to install this correctly with new LGHUB Logitech Software? LGS from Logitech isnt supported anymore!
But the Installer from Aurora 0.81 requires to do some steps in LGS Software!

Well, Aurora is built for the LGS Software SDK (Logitech Gaming Software) application and "patched" by the author to work with LGHUB.

The important thing is to get Aurora to show up in LGHUB as "integrated" into LGHUB. To do this, you meed to install thje old LGS application from Logitech.

You can get it here:

So, to malke Aurora work again, uninstall LGHUB and delete it's installation dfirectory.

Now, the LGS Software is not really needed by Aurora 0.8.1, but because Aurora was originally written for it, the Logitech Drivers are better than the ones contained in LGHUB.

So, after you uninstall LGHUB, Install the LGS software you downloaded above. Once it is installed. then install the LGHUB software.

Then open LGS and have it search for all your games. Then exit LGS and make sure it will not run at system startup.

Then go to LGHUB and check to see if Aurora is now "integrated". It should be.

Then go to LGHUB Settings and look in the "Device Manager" and see if the "Logitech" driver is "Connected". If not, hit the "Start" button and see if it will connect,

Once it is connected, go back to Aurora and find the "Elite Dangerous" game profile and under one of the "Overlay" tabs, there should be a "Patch LED SDK" tab and one that will lead you through a tutoral about changing the LGS software to worjk with LGHUB. Do both of them and then close LGS again.

Aurora is a PITA to configure and get to work. It may not be worth your effort just to have the keyboard show only the lights for Elite that are needed by the game.

I am a developer and it was a PITA for me and not worth my effort, but I did make t work.

this is impossible. i cant install LGS.

When i do so, it tells me to install LGHUB, and when i did, LGS isnt available anymore!

thanks for your response!

Then go to LGHUB and check to see if Aurora is now "integrated". It should be.
cant find this, where should it be exactly? please be more precisely with an pic or video...

Then go to LGHUB Settings and look in the "Device Manager" and see if the "Logitech" driver is "Connected". If not, hit the "Start" button and see if it will connect,
you mean the Aurora Software ?!

Once it is connected, go back to Aurora and find the "Elite Dangerous" game profile and under one of the "Overlay" tabs, there should be a "Patch LED SDK" tab and one that will lead you through a tutoral about changing the LGS software to worjk with LGHUB. Do both of them and then close LGS again.
..done that all, not working as i like to have it.

one question:

do the animated fsd jumps on keyboard still working? My main interests go only to those animated keyboard lightnings!

if not, then all that aurora crap is useless for me. i dont care about some enlighted keys on my keyboard, cause i can manage it by myself alone in the LGHUB Software.

There is absloutely no need for this crap then! ...taking hours to configure, install with no success.. no tutorial videos, nothing...

i know that the former LGS Software was ages better than this crappy LGHUB, But: why do developer develop on such old stuff like the LGS and not the LGHUB, cause thats the future. my G910 is now over 3 years old, and LGS is not supported anymore..

just my 50 cents

Sorry. I have Windows 10 and have both LGS and LGHUB installed with no problem. Both run just fine.

The Elite Dangerous profile in Aurora does not have the FSD jump animation any more, or at least I cannot get it to run.

You need to contact the developers on the Aurora site. They have more information on how to set things up.
ok, thank you.

i uninstall thjat all now. no need then for this all... 6hrs spent for nothing, only to get to know, that those amazing animation not working anymore.
i have 8" color displays on my Cougar MFDs and i can use my HTC Vive...

one last thing:
how do you get both softwares to work???

LGS is disabled, when LGHUB is installed, limited usable
